Since the hotel lobby is on the 35th floor, the Mandarin rooms offer wonderful views of either the Hudson River or the Park. And that open view from the large window is important because the rooms are rather small. Ours offered a king size bed and a small chaise in addition to the dresser/tvstand/honor bar/desk combo. Getting the breakfast table...

The afternoon tea itself was delightful, the scones were warm and the sandwiches were so delecate it was lovely. Couldn't eat all of the cakes at the end but we did try. The view was amazing, we got such a lovely day...

There may be many good hotels in NYC but there is only one Mandarin. It would never occur to me to look elsewhere. When we stay there it is like going home. They know us by name when we pull up in front. I love that.

On recommendation we stopped at the Lounge Bar on the 35th floor of the Mandarin Oriental for an early cocktail. Although we we were clearly there just for a drink having walked half of New York, we were afforded every courtesy and a very nice cocktail and Rioja. We had a very relaxed hour just chilling and enjoying the amazing...

It is difficult to find a fault in this amazing hotel. My corner suite had an elegant, modern feel and most importantly a walk-in wardrobe closet. Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
