Have stayed at the Maritime Hotel three or four times and it is somewhere I feel very much at home. Other reviewers have mentioned the small size of the rooms, however for New York I think they are more than generous. With the outside bar seating area, the italian trattoria, the great service and the wonderful location opposite the Chelsea...

I have stayed here countless times when visiting NY for work and pleasure. The rooms are nicely sized, not huge but plenty of space when you consider many NYC hotel rooms barely have space either side of the bed, you won't feel cramped here. The bedding is good quality, comfortable. Each room has a well stocked mini bar. The bathrooms...

Do not believe the pictures on line. The hotel is in need of a make over. The Internet is a saviour for the hotel really fast , he location of the hotel is great however that is it. The lobby is located up stairs from the street, it is dark and dingy, a little like being below deck on a...

Stayed here 3 years ago on my own-although I met up with friends who were renting a nearby apartment.. The hotel was in a wonderful location near the Chelsea market, and the high line., and had easy access to trains to take you anywhere. The rooms were small, but great bed with pillow choices and crisp white linen. I used...

Spent 6 nights here on a business trip with a couple of days holiday thrown in. I couldn't recommend it highly enough. The rooms are great, not massive butt more than big enough and everything was very clean. The location is amazing with lots of brilliant bars and restaurants within spitting distance. There is also a really nice outdoor bar/terrace...

Spent 4 nights on a business trip this past April. The rooms are small but efficiently laid out and well appointed. The design is very tasteful and not overbearing at all (unlike several other competing hotels in the area). All in all this is a reasonably priced no fuss (and well located) hotel.

My husband and I had a wedding to go to over Memorial Day weekend at the Prospect Park Boathouse in Brooklyn. I loved the mid-century modern vibe about the place. The rooms were wonderful--on the small side but I did not mind this at all considering how unique the overall design/aesthetic is in this hotel. I booked this last minute on Memorial Day weekend. It seemed even the budget hotels in NYC were $300+ that Saturday night! We booked this on Hotels Tonight, and got a rate $225 about $40 less than online. Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
