What an amazing hotel. I don't even know where to begin; the interior design, the location, the staff? Which should I focus on? The interior design of the hotel is what first hits you when you enter through the unassuming side door entrance off of 16th Street. It is like walking into a ship's library. There are cozy seating areas...

The hotel is located on the corner of 16th St and 9th avenue. It is one block from a subway station where you can take the A, C, E trains uptown or downtown or the L crosstown. All of the rooms face 9th Avenue which is a busy street so you hear honking horns and street noise even 8 stories...

Frankly, I was just looking for a decent place to sleep somewhere above 14th Street and below $250/night. The Maritime Hotel fit the bill—and then some. It's an impeccably designed hotel with many thoughtful touches. I've stayed in plenty of Manhattan hotels at this price point, and the Maritime is far and away my best experience. I can't say anything...

The attention to details in the design of this hotel are beautiful and thoughtful. From the design of the numbers on the room doors to the monogrammed sheets to the ship-theme paneling and round porthole-style windows, this hotel is well thought-out. The free continental breakfast was great and exceeded my expectations in terms of the freshly squeezed juices, lemon/cucumber water...

We had a delayed, canceled and then re-confirmed flight out of Detroit to NYC. Speaking with Ebony at the Maritime, she was extremely helpful and flexible with our dilemma and our reservation at the Maritime. Could not have been more accommodating as our plans changed almost by the minute. We stay at the Maritime each time we visit NYC and...

We loved our stay at the Maritime Hotel! It's beautiful inside (the lobbies and our room we stayed in!) The bathroom in our room was gorgeous and stocked with high end soaps and shampoos. And the bed was comfortable and cozy. Only complaint would be a loud heating and cooling system that rattled very loudly in our room, but the...

Not one bad thing to say. Great location near Chelsea Market, easy to get to lots of things. Interior was well thought out with the old school ship theme but not kitschy. Second time here, found it as an option to Gansevoort and Standard in Meatpacking district. While not as cool and hip, this is such a comfortable place and a lot less. Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
