Newly built and opened in November 2022, Grayson's 293 Guestrooms and 3 Junior Suites blend the stark contrast of raw and refined, industrial and guild - steel and glass juxtaposed with lacquered wood and gold accents. The raw, unfinished concrete ceilings are designed with intent to contradict the smooth, high-glossed woods of our headboards and closets. Our Junior Suites offer private terraces with views of landmarks old and new. Hotel guests benefit from Midtown Manhattan neighborhood perks such as nearby Bryant Park, Fifth Avenue Shopping and four on-site dining experiences including our Rooftop Bar with incomparable views of the Manhattan skyline and beyond.

Detailed Reviews
My 15 yo son and I stayed at the Grayson for 3 nights in a two double-bed city view room during a heatwave, and the AC was flawless. We really enjoyed the hotel and would stay there again.
The location was central to almost everything in Manhattan: the 42nd St and Bryant Park subway stations, easy walk to/from Penn Station, 20 short blocks N to the bottom of Central Park, we walked to Murray Hill and Hudson Yards and the Flatiron and all over. It was clean, the staff was enthusiastic and helpful, the gym was nice and never crowded, the elevators were quick (a rarity for NYC) and the restaurant, Harta, had a fantastic breakfast (until 11am!). We have AmEx benefits so we received free breakfast each morning and a $100 hotel credit, which we used at the Taco truck for dinner and also for soft serve one night for dessert. One really nice thing about the taco truck is that it didn't feel like a hotel restaurant at all; lots of people were coming in from 38th street (the hotel is on 39th...the truck is located in an alley) so it felt like any other restaurant that we discovered.
There are a few Szechuan restaurants on the block and we went to Peppercorn Station one night: it was great, inexpensive, and on Michelin's Bib Gourmand list (as is one of the others on the block).
My only criticisms are pretty minor: we requested a mini fridge twice (in the booking notes and at the desk) and it never came but in the end we ended up not needing it, the fire alarms went off three times one day (false alarms...so short that we never made it out to the street), and our room didn't have a remote which we noticed at check-in when my son wanted to watch the Euros but we called and one was delivered within 5 minutes. I think these are all normal things and NBD, but if you want a mini fridge you may have to be persistent.
If you want a convenient place to stay that feels fairly luxurious without being completely obscenely expensive, the Grayson Hotel is a great option. It is very close to Times Square but in my opinion doesn't feel like Times Square and that entire scene can be complete avoided :) My husband hates NYC but if I am able to drag him here, I'd return without any hesitation.

I read many comments before deciding but in the end I made the right decision! Family with 2 children 7 years old at first experience in NYC. Nice, modern, fashionable hotel, very well maintained. Exceptional staff, always very kind and helpful as well as ready to help you in any request. Fast elevators and always available .. waits few and in the norm. We bought the room with breakfast and it was also a great choice for children’s speech. They have a very convenient free water dispenser especially in this period!! Free American coffee. For breakfast there is the à la carte menu. When you book the room you get an amount per person for breakfast (we had $35 per person per day) and you only pay the difference if you go over budget. Large enough breakfast room. We on 7 days we waited to be seated only once but there can fit..Heavy portions, especially pancakes and quality. We had room on the 14th floor Bryant view because the doubles are also Empire view but the quadruples are not. Soundproof room very well ... never heard a noise and a nyc of noises there are!! The location of the hotel is perfect..central but secluded. Convenient by public transport because the metro is a few steps from the hotel. The reception always helped me. I had big problems with Flights and luggage not arrived x 6 days! I missed the first night at the hotel and they gave me a dinner at the restaurant. They also helped me in every way to look for the suitcases by calling again and again and again at JFK's lost and found, and Anyway whatever I asked, I was satisfied and x me these are added values. The only small drawback... a little more attention in cleaning the rooms, like sweeping a little more... otherwise the rooms were clean and towels always changed daily. HOTEL CONSIGLIATISSIMO!! I will stay there again for sure!

Amazing hotel! Great location. We had a room with a view of the Empire State Building. It was great. This is actually one of the quietest hotels we’ve ever stayed at in the city. We went with friends and it was their first time in NYC. Easy walk up to Rockefeller Center, close to subway. The breakfast each morning was great and the service was spot on. Our room was made up each day and restocked with coffee, towels, etc… Orenzo was so helpful at storing our luggage on our checkout day and he organized a trip back to the airport via the hotels transport. We will definitely be back.

I dislike served breakfasts.
Location close to 5’th Avenue and Bryant Park is very ideal.
Rooms are OK, bathrooms also. Beds are fine – a little firm.
There was no noise in our room - in this noisy city - so very fine.
We had free breakfast included on booking – but that means that you can buy up to 35 dollars for breakfast – on top of this taxes and tips.
I must say that I very much dislike the served breakfast style:
You have to wait to get served, you can never get the food and the quantity as you really like as you can with the buffet style. And in the US you have to pay a lot of tips for getting this service that you really don’t like and don't need to get.
I would like to come back to this hotel when they change the breakfast method.

For context, middle aged woman traveling solo for work:
Extremely early check in granted post red eye flight which was beyond appreciated.
Great location and quiet so good soundproofing on rooms/windows.
Window actually opened for fresh air.
Decent number of treadmills etc in the gym.
Good cocktail at hotel bar.
Comfy bed with pillows that didn't hurt my neck (if you're over 35 you'll understand the hazards of a hotel pillow)
I'd absolutely stay here again, thanks Greyson team, this was so good.

This hotel is a modern style built, but the standard room is very small. The location of the hotel is very good. The housekeeping needs to be improved, we had to ask for more towels and other amenitis after the housekeeping. The reataurant in the lobby is very good having tasteful food with reasonable price, but it has short staff, need to wait longer to get a service.

I liked the hotel's location and bed size relative to room size (some might say too tight but NYC hotel room will always be small and I'd rather have big bed in a tiny room than small bed in a tiny room. The hotel staffs were professional and helpful
2 glaring problems I think overall brought me down a bit. 1- hotel elevator was way too crowded with rooftop crowd and the 3rd elevator wasn't well utilized. Breakfast in the morning was very very slow with a few items on the menu was always out of stock. as example Caffe mocha was always out for some reason during my 2 night stay. weird...

Stayed at the hotel for 7 nights 7th-14th September. The hotel is very clean and situated in a good location to all the major tourist attractions. The breakfast offered plenty of choice and was delicious. We had breakfast included but were limited to $35 per person per day for breakfast. This was not made clear before our stay. The hotel also charges $100 per night for incidentals which again was not made clear before I booked. These additional charges would put me off staying again. We did visit the rooftop bar once, but we were asked every 5 minutes if we wanted more drinks which we personally found annoying. Beds were very comfortable. We stayed in room 705 on the 7th floor which offered a good view of the Empire State Building.

Very good daily cleaning, very comfortable beds, very friendly and pleasant staff (I only remember Noel's name, but everyone was very friendly). There was a gym that looked good, as well as a cafeteria downstairs and another on the terrace, but we didn't use any of the three things since we had a lot of things to see in NY. They charge a deposit of $100 per night, but two days later it was returned. The situation is ideal.
What would improve would be to give some breakfast option for those staying in the hotel upon arrival or explain something else that there was free coffee to take away, not to drink there.

Hard to beat the location - if midtown is your jam - and the newness of the property definitely matters - things are updated, modern, and relatively clean. Might be fine for first/second timers but if you're in the Hyatt loyalty program you will be let down. There's no attention to detail and anything you might need must be asked for. Simple things, like room cleaning, bottled water, etc., that should not seem out of place with a $550/night rate. Good news is the restaurant, rooftop bar and bellman service almost make up for the otherwise disappoitingin experience.
