We had the perfect ending to our US holiday staying at the Hotel Chelsea. It more than met our expectations and was a unique and marvelous experience. We especially loved the doormen and women whom were welcoming personable and delightful to talk to. But really all hospitality staff were lovely to engage with and very professional and helpful. The environment is respectful of the historical past and it’s significance whilst being beautifully designed. It was very aesthetically pleasing and comfortable with many great features. We had a balcony room which we thoroughly enjoyed . It was lovely at night and in the day. Very comfortable spacious bed and the best bathroom with a bath you could move into ☺️ We will never again come to New York without spending time at the Hotel Chelsea ❣️❣️❣️

Checked into the hotel late after a long flight and was greeted with the warmest welcome. Joanna at the front desk made sure that our stay would be delightful. We were in our lovely room within minutes and having drinks and appetizers at the fabulous Lobby Bar shortly thereafter.
The energy is real- a vibe born from decades of the artists that graced this super sexy landmark.
It’s a must stay!!!!

High quality, unique experience. The renovation is a masterpiece and still holds and honors the essence of the Chelsea while elevating it even further. Everything was perfect and with so much rich history and character. Lively and fun atmosphere in all of the hotel cafes and bars, never sleepy in the city that never sleeps. The staff was attentive and warm. Walking in felt like coming home and it's partly because the Chelsea is still home to actual tenants who have lived in the building for over 40 years.
There is original artwork by former tenants everywhere. There are original castings and architectural details from the 1800s.
A highlight of the trip was having a private tour of the hotel from William, hopefully that will continue as it really enriched our experience of the hotel and solidified our decision to come back for another stay as soon as January.
The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The balcony doors and windows surprisingly blocked out the street noise, and we had a room on the 23rd Street side, but we didn't hear any street noise. The lighting is perfect and all have dimmers. The walls are thick and we didn't hear any neighbors from any angle. It was quiet, peaceful, comfortable, romantic and wonderful.
The only negative would be that our fridge had a divider that only allowed it to hold drinks and not any take out boxes, but all of the rooms in the hotel are different, so other rooms probably have a different fridge.
Otherwise a perfect stay and cannot wait to come back again and again!

We loved our stay at this very characterful hotel. It was great to stay somewhere steeped in so much cultural history, and we couldn't fault anything about our 4-night stay.
We particularly loved the very deep bath tub, and the amazing shower. The bed was extremely comfortable... and everything in the room was beautifully designed. We had a room overlooking 23rd St and were initially worried about traffic/street noise, but this didn't turn out to be an issue.
We really liked the atmosphere (and cocktails) in the Lobby Bar - perfect for an early evening drink, or a nightcap.
And the location suited us perfectly - close to two subway stations, making it easy and quick to get uptown, or downtown (and to JFK.)

Hotel Chelsea is by far the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at. The ambiance of the entire hotel is so chic and original. You won’t find a better place in Manhattan. The staff is incredible friendly. Upon arrival, I was early for my spa appointment by over an hour, however they sent me up there where I was able to relax and use all the incredible amenities. It was on the rooftop with an amazing view. They had a really nice and clean gym along with the most spectacular women’s Locke room I have ever seen. They offer a hot steam shower, beautiful vanities, soft robes, slippers and any item a woman would need. The waiting area for your masseuse offered some snacks and beautiful books that features cool architecture, history and design. The staff up there were very helpful and attentive, but at the same time, gave you room to be alone and unwind. When it was time for the massage therapist to bring me in, she was warm, friendly and had great energy. Our services began with a foot bath features magnesium salt. I’ve had dozens of massages before, but this was by far the best I’ve ever had. The room I stayed in had a balcony overlooking 23rd street. Hotel Chelsea will be the only place I stay in Manhattan going forward. I would recommend to anyone and everyone.

This is simply the best hotel in New York. Nothing comes close. Everyone here has charisma and charm, but without pretension or obsequiousness. The rooms have air, space, light and the bathrooms are indulgent. The interiors have been tastefully crafted and the original features honoured and revived - they make Soho House feel trite and artificial. All of the art on display allows one to relish its history and character, but this icon is now a masterpiece, combining its notorious past with contemporary relevance and wisdom. To stay here is to experience New York at its very best, its richest.
The cafe and lobby bar are destinations in their own right. To have them at your feet is an utter delight.

For those traveling in style, this is the place to be!
Elegant interior of rooms polished to perfection in the choice of decorative accessories, color of bathroom marbles and nightstands woodwork. Let your inner artist feel at home, if you could.
The bed was comfortable, yet I still thought I was in a movie, this is how theatrical the room looked. List of Amenities is impressive that match to the hotel market sector in this price range.
To test the renovation from the engineering state point, I set A/C to cool the room to 58F and heat it up to 78F, it worked just well.
Mini Bar is full of festive goodies. Thus, the restaurants and bars downstairs are worth to visit. Even if your local friends are blasé NewYorkers, they would be pleased to dine here with you.
I would recommend to stay here at least 2-3 days to familiarizes yourself with the facility and explore it all. There is about a dozen of residents in the building, so if you by chance meet them in the hallways, it is a rare opportunity to listen to different stories about musicians, artist, socialites of the last century to maximize your experience. They will guide you through the exhibits, and reveal hidden details, unless you are familiar with Warhol, Pollock and Mapplethorpe yourself.
Overall: great weekend “get away” to spend quality time with friends, or significant other @lanka.lifestyle

This hotel exceeded our expectations on every level. The staff is warm and helpful, and the hotel itself is exceptional. We upgraded to the suite (highly recommended if available) and it truly enhanced our stay in NYC by 150%. The location is perfect if you prefer to stay away from the overly crowded areas, yet it remains convenient if that's your preference. We enjoyed every eatery on site, and like the rest of the hotel, the dining experience was superb. Don't forget to check out the art and geek out! We loved every moment of the week we spent here.

Our stay at The Hotel Chelsea was superb. The staff was friendly, helpful and always went above and beyond. The ambience is beautiful and inviting; we ate breakfast in the gorgeous lobby most days and loved it. Our room was impeccably clean, expertly furnished and decorated, and very quiet even though we were directly on the streetside of the building with large windows.

When we return to New York for our next visit, we will absolutely be staying at the Chelsea again; the location, charm and comfort was unmatched. Highly recommend for those that don't want to be directly in the mad bustle of Times Square, but still want to be a highly walkable area with quick access to multiple train lines.

I am a former hotel consultant and New Yorker who travels a lot and is very selective about the hotels I stay at. There’s got to be something beyond standard five star fare to pique my interest. Therefore the bar was high when I decided to do a staycation here in my hometown no less. And all I have to say is wow. They did a great job of honoring the soul of the old Chelsea Hotel while bringing it back to life in a more vibrant way, reviving a stretch of 23rd street and a neighborhood I’ve taken for granted. The standard Chelsea room where I am staying is small but well considered: a generous and comfy king bed, beautiful bathroom and period furnishings that give you a sense of the hotel’s rock star pied a terre days. Hotel prices have become exorbitant and for the rate they charge they really didn’t skim on any of the details, from turn down service to the little Marvis toothpaste in the bathroom amenity kit. The dining is not terribly imaginative but assuredly delivers the classics, and perhaps more importantly brings back a buzz and people watching element that is so rare in the city these days. Overall a great homage and addition to this our beloved town.

Not when I stayed there - just the state tax which is calculated on the total when you book.
