Some of the reviews I've read about this place are pretty harsh. Yes it's a basic hotel but the location is excellent. It's located in Hells Kitchen and only a 10 to 15 minute walk to Times Square. The hotel is located on 38W street between 9th and 10th ave. There are some excellent eating options located on 9th Ave....

The hotel was a mix of good and bad. Good: they have a SAFE (like a vault) ya'll, and a full iron and ironing board, price I guess, free breakfast, location, free wifi, clean, it's a hotel, free shampoo and soap and safe. Neutral: Alice Chen, the TV had like 8 channels, no mini-fridge, self-pour waffles. Bad: cold room with...

Dear guest: We are really sorry that we did not meet your standard during your stay here. The elevator was down and it should be fixed right away but due to short of the correct parts, and they need to find it in the morning. They fixed it at noon the next day. We really apologize for any inconvenience it...

The hotel is located about a half-block from the Javits Center, which was very helpful when I attended a convention there. The hotel is small, with no frills. They have free wifi, which works very nicely (not slow). They also have free breakfast, although I wish there were a few more choices. The room was clean, albeit a bit small....

I picked this hotel for the price $410.00 for three nights, breakfast and free WIFI. It was difficult to locate the Magnuson at night. The pictures on the website are exactly how the hotel is inside. They held a $100.00 security fee which I didn't know about. Cons: small, no chair, rough towels, shower curtain had and odor, shower head...

The room was clean. The staff was nice. Breakfast was simple but good. It's really close to the convention center which is the main reason for staying there. Beware that the train goes by every morning at 7:15am right outside the front door. :( Request a room on the back of the building.

First the cons: Our room with a king bed was quite small - one side of the bed was against the wall, requiring a "scoot" down the bed to get out of it on that side. There was just enough room to walk past at the foot of the bed, etc. We didn't love the foam mattress, but we are...

This hotel is close to convention center, like 2 minute walk. The hotel seemed safe. Breakfast had good variety (cereals, toast, bagels, waffles, eggs, sausage, yogurt, fruit), although eggs looked gross. WiFi was free and good. Room cozy but comfortable. Coffee maker in room but condiments not always replenished. There is street noise, it is an industrial area but not...

Stayed here just one night having returned to New York from Washington DC. Booked it because it was one of the cheaper options at this time. The hotel is very basic but was adequate for our needs. Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
