Stayed two nights in September and loved it. This was my second time at this hotel, and won't be my last. Great location! Nice clean room and bathroom. Bathroom was decent size and cleaner than most. Felt comfortable and safe in this hotel. Front desk clerk and bellman were very polite.

We stayed here over a weekend in September 2005. The location is good, very close to the Empire State Building and other sites. The rooms were clean, cleaner than some other places I've stayed in New York City, and the price is good for the city. The air conditioning worked well. However, it is not a luxury hotel. There is...

We stayed for 8 nights. Hotel is clean, comfortable, and well placed for Penn Station, lots of Subway lines, MACY'S, Times Square and above all the Empire State Building which was outside our window with the Chrysler away to the right. Breakfast was a buffet of bagels, apples, bananas 2 kinds of bread to toast, Quaker oats, fruit juice coffee...

We stayed for 7 nights in Room 1406 (family of 4 arrived Sept. 2 and checked out on Sept. 9, 2005). The room was very quiet; we didn't hear guests in any room above/below or next door (even though the room next to ours was occupied). The room wasn't very large but it was adequate...we were so tired at the...

I stayed here for 5 days and cannot rate this room high enough is reasonably priced (well for NY) right around the corner from Empire State, Macys and 5th ave. It is situated in little Korea a gorgeous little street right off 5th Ave that has wonderful Korean Restaurants and shops. Several busses pass the hotel and a short walk...

For the price ($135/night) and location (just near the Empire State Building), Red Roof Inn is hard to beat, especially at the last minute. The neighborhood is a bit shady - it's in Korea town, which is interesting, but not the safest part of New York - but is very central. There are lots of delis and groceries around for...

My daughter and I just returned from 2 nights at the Red Roof Inn in Manhattan. We arrived before noon and left our bags for a short wander up to Times Square; when we returned at 12.30, the upgraded room that had been blocked for us was not yet ready, but a standard room was available. We checked it out...

In a city where average hotel room prices soar up to $300 a night, this is a find! Basic chain hotel accomodations, very clean - basically, no worries regarding shadiness or cleanliness here. Just a dependable hotel room with solid, clean facilities. Bed was not too hard. Sheets were clean. Extra pillows and general housekeeping facilities. Bathrooms look new and...

Stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Manhattan near Korea Town and the Garment District for two nights August 9 and 10. The hotel is in a good location and a short walk to 6th avenue where one can catch the N,Q,R, W line. The simply furnished rooms and bathrooms are clean, and larger than most hotel rooms in the...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
