What a wonderful place to stay, I highly recommend this lovely friendly hotel with the personal touch. The owner Susan is very visible and a wealth of information on things to do in the city. She and her staff are charming, friendly and helpful. The included breakfast really sets you up for a busy day of activity and there is...

We loved it. Susan (the owner) and indeed all the staff go out of their way to make each guest feel like a family member. The décor is simple but very clean. The rooms and comfortable and spacious with everything you need on hand. The staff recommend restaurants and activities face to face and via a handy daily newsletter posted...

I have travelled all over the world and I can honestly say that hotel 414 was one of the best places I've stayed. Susan is incredible in what she offers - a stunning hotel, home comforts, great staff and all the extras of a great breakfast and evening drinks. She went out of her way to make my stay amazing...

I don't think we've ever stayed in the same hotel in NYC three times...until the 414! We returned last week from a 6-night stay, this time celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. When we arrived there was a bottle of Prosecco in our room's fridge, along with two champagne glasses and chocolates. What a way to start our visit! We were...

We loved everything about the 414 Hotel; its staff, homey atmosphere and close proximity to Time Square made it a great place to stay. Everyone including the other guests were so nice. We loved the quaint atmosphere of the lobby and how breakfast and the happy hour brought people together to enjoy conversations about one another's adventures in NYC. Our...

I've visited New York many times in different districts, in large and smaller hotels so feel I can give a fair review. It's a lovely small hotel, in two Brownstone buildings connected by a courtyard garden which I imagine must be great in summer. There is no lift, true but the staff are more than willing to take bags up...

This is my second stay and it was better than the last time which was also excellent. I would not consider staying anywhere else. Convenient home base for NYC exploration close to many subway lines and steps away from Time Square. Staff is extremely helpful. I will be back soon!

This hotel deserves these great reviews. The staff (Susan, Jackie and Drew and everyone else) are so attentive, friendly and helpful from the minute you enter the lobby and that lasts the whole time you are there. The location is excellent. You are close to times square, the theater district and many restaurants but it is away from the noise...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
