The only reason I didn't give this a complete one star is because of its location. Now although its fairly maintained for a 100 year old hotel its just a piece of crap. Lobby looks decent. Service is pretty weak. It has essentially become the location for New York's low end visitors crowd. So many sketchy folks from all walks...

Arrived at the hotel around 5pm. Lady behind the desk didn't really engage, just asked me to put my card and pin in, didn't say how much was going to be deducted, turned out to be £80. Got our room key for a room on the 14th floor. Was a bit apprehensive after seeing some pictures on here but room...

Dear Sir/Madam Booking reference CI1YNHWA - MCILROY I booked a room super save rate room for a stay 1st Dec to 4th December (3 nights). The amount that I paid was 1110.95 dollars, this included all taxes and charges and include free wifi and three rewards as I had booked directly through the Penn hotel website. It took us almost...

This hotel was booked because the location was great and a few reviews suggested it's suitable. No, it's not. Not even close to being suitable to stay in. I was in NYC for business and my company was reviewing hotels close by to see if they were appropriate for those brought to the city for business. My first room was...

This is a two-star hotel and you get what you pay for. If you want a place to sleep and shower in a good location, this is it. Very dated with no opulence. Upon arrival, the lobby is grand, which is deceiving of what you will find upstairs. Check in was well manned and professional, but slow (about an hour)....

I can't say much about the hotel. Spent as little time as possible here. The staff were lovely but the rooms were a bit dated and scruffy. Great location though! Right opposite Madison Square Gardens and a few blocks from ESB. Would I stay here again? Only if it was cheap!

This hotel is brilliant for its location, only couple of minutes walk to Time Square and Empire state building. Although the location is perfect, just be warned, the rooms are very run down, outdated and not very clean. The bed sheets were changed everyday and fresh towels everyday but that was the only clean thing about it. We already knew...

I don't believe everything someone writes until i see it for myself. Firstly as my profession is front desk management, I commend the front desk staff for the ability to work under the pressure of guest waiting to check in and still be helpful, when the 'guest stares' at you, of course you are going to wait in a que...

The location is brilliant - close to Penn Station, opposite the ever famous Madison Square Garden. However everything else is not. We arrived after a long flight nearing to midnight and the check-in queue was already long. Got our keys, went up the elevator and walked across the 'creepy' hallway to our room. Entered the room and told ourselves that...

First off I would like to start by saying do not believe everything that you read from reviews. The hotel is based in an ideal location, particularly during the Black Friday sales when we travelled, as Macy's was a matter of minutes away, as well as many other great stores and restaurants etc. The hotel itself, We were on the...

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
