I travelled with my partner and her family. That was with her father and mother, sister and brother who is disabled. First of all I called up in advance as I was planning on asking my partner the big question. They offered me an upgrade, which was great. The room set up for my partner’s family was fantastic. The disabled...

Sofitel in New York was wonderful. We managed to get a very good rate (one comparable to 2 and 3* hotels) and were more than pleased with what we got. Service was brilliant at all times - the reception desk even arranged for us to have a late check out with no charge when they realised that we had a...

I generally like Sofitels. When I travel, it's either a Kimpton property or a Sofitel for me. So I was looking forward to my stay at the Sofitel NY, especially given the raves on Trip Advisor. Let me go through my pros and cons: Pros Location, location, location. If you want central, this is great. Check-in. Fastest check-in ever. I...

This is not our first (or last) trip to New York. We always stay here and we are always happy with our stay. I can't imagine a better place to stay when visiting. We are very close to Grand Central, Times Square, and the theater district. Do yourself a favor and don't cut costs by staying in a cheap hotel.

This hotel really is in a fantastic spot, within easy walking distance of Fifth Avenue, Times Square, Grand Central Station, Bryant Park... Plus, it's a Sofitel, which means great service, chic decor and relaxed ambiance.

We arrived late at night to a warm friendly welcome. The hotel is in a great position as other reviews have pointed out, i also have to agree with others about the quietness of the hotel as we were on the 15th floor and never heard anything. The bed was so soft and comfortable....lovely to come back to after hours...

The Sofitel in New York is my new hotel of choice in New York City. The hotel was everything I had hoped. Its located in the very heart of Mid Town, two blocks from the Theater District and Times Square. But for all that its incredibly quiet. The lobby area is very nice, very European and very comfortable. Check in...

Sofitel NYC is in a great location, comfortable and quite stylish. The Sofitel beds are amazing and we always have a good night on them. The only let down to this hotel was the staff. They were either very friendly and helpful or quite surly, especially in the restaurant were a simple breakfast of toast, fruit and coffee caused considerable...

My daughter and I spent 4 nights at the Sofitel, celebrating her upcoming 18th birthday. The hotel is beautiful and very modern. We had a Luxury King room on the 17th floor. The room and the bathroom were a very good size for 2 people and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable and luxurious. We never heard any outside...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
