I've stayed here several times. I have a client that comes in from Paris and we find the Sofitel to be a great location, very helpful service and comfortable rooms. There is even a small fitness center. I recommend this hotel.

I am the kind of traveller who would opt for the comfort, consistency and relative affordability of a Marriott room but I must say that for those times to splurge -- the Sofitel is the way to go! The hotel is beautifully and tastefully appointed. The room was comfortable and roomy (incredible in New York) and overall it was a... More

From the authentically friendly greeting of the doorman to the expedient checkout, the hotel did not disappoint again this visit. The room was not large but large enough for two considering so little time is spent in your room. The bathroom, however was more than adequate and well appointed. We thought they might have overlooked a coffee maker in the... More

The hotel is very close to grand central terminal, making a walk from the train to the hotel very easy. The staff is warm and friendly and make the stay much nicer. The service is quick as well, one of the few places left that actually make you feel welcome in the hotel. I feel the staff here goes well... More

The room's are very clean and the beds are comfortable. This is a terrific location in NYC. I would recommend finding a grocery store for some in room snacks and drinks because everything is rather priciy and it's a good way to keep expenses down. Free WIFI but not much else. Room size is very good for a NYC hotel... More

A perfect location for Broadway plays, Times square, shopping and dining. A restful stay in the most comfortable bed as well as well thoughtful amenities. The staff from concierge, housekeeping, restaurant staff, and checkin-in staff were uniformly pleasant and friendly ( not the stiff plastic smile types you see in many "nice " hotels ). The best hotel stay so... More

My friends and I have been guests at Sofitel New York more times than I can now remember. Coming from rural South Carolina, we consider Sofitel as our home in your beautiful city. We would choose to stay nowhere else. The neighborhood is safe and friendly. The entire staff always seeks to make our time there most pleasant--including the representatives... More

We stayed in a Queen room for 4 nights. The hotel provides an excellent location for exploring the city. The room was a good size and extremely comfortable. The hotel has a lovely lounge area for relaxing and the bar and restaurant offer a good selection of food and drinks. We had dinner in the restaurant on one night of... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
