The Four Points by Sheraton Midtown - Times Square is well-regarded for its prime location and cleanliness, with guests regularly complimenting the spotless rooms and efficient housekeeping. The amenities, including a decent breakfast and daily water replenishment, along with comfortable beds, enhance the stay for many visitors. While the service is largely seen as friendly and professional, some guests have encountered inconsistency. Though some reviewers feel the rooms are on the smaller side and the atmosphere could be more welcoming, the central location near attractions and transit is a consistent plus. Opinions on value vary, with some guests finding the pricing reasonable and others not.

This was my BEST hotel experience EVER! It started with Anton and his outstanding attention to detail and moved on to an equally great experience with Chloe at the Front Desk. Anton and his staff really made me feel special and showed me what it was like to stay at a first rate hotel in NYC.

The room was very comfortable, clean, beds extremely comfortable (firm), and a refrigerator in the room. Another nice touch at this hotel is when you come in from outside and want to stop to get ice, they have heavy duty plastic bags for you to put the ice in right next to the ice machine. First time I have seen this and appreciated not having to go to my room to get the bucket and then trek down to the ice machine.

The buffet breakfast was great and I even had someone meet me at the front door to the restaurant to ask me if I wanted any special egg omelet. Entire area was completely clean and everyone attentive to continually keeping it clean.

Coffee maker in the room. Very nice. When I realized I wanted decaf coffee, I went to the Front Desk and Chloe took care of it very quickly.

Convenient location. Bowling alley on corner, great restaurants close by, bus station one block away, did not have any issues with people hanging around outside hotel or on the block asking for money. Very safe from my perspective.

I will be staying here from now on. Thank you Anton and staff.

I recently brought a group of 22 high school seniors on a trip to New York City and we stayed at this hotel. I have been taking students on this field trip for years and this has been the best hotel we have stayed at by far! Such an easy check-in process, they literally just handed me all of the keys! They put the student rooms on the same floors as chaperone rooms, which most hotels won’t do, which makes things very difficult for chaperones! So I was very appreciative of that! They gave free water in the room and house keeping replaced it daily! That was so nice, especially since we were there for 6 nights!

The only reason why I didn’t give a 5 star review is because breakfast was very busy in the morning. So busy that often my students couldn’t get breakfast. I suggested to the manager that they should have a “grab and go” option when they know they are going to have a lot of school groups staying with them, so at least the kids could get something to eat for breakfast.

The hotel is in such a great central location and we could walk to lots of things in NY - Times Square, Empire State Building, Javits Center, Broadway show theaters, etc. The only downside about this location is that it is right next to the Port Authority bus terminal, which I think attracts some unsafe homeless folks. We definitely had encounters with several unsafe homeless in the area. That isn’t the hotel’s fault, I felt very safe at the hotel and they even had security at the front door, that is an issue with NYC itself needing to get the homeless situation under control so that people are safe in the city.

Overall I would recommend this hotel, especially for a school group!

The hotel is in a very convenient location, although the surrounding area is a bit dirty and scruffy. There is a lot to like. Our room, on the 27th floor, was very quiet and clean. The bathroom was small but adequate with a great shower. Housekeeping did a good job cleaning and replenishing bottled water each day. Staff overall were pleasant and efficient.
The big letdown was breakfast! The food on offer was reasonable quality, but the breakfast room itself was awful. Freezing cold, cramped, uncomfortable seating and horrible loud “music” playing the whole time…we couldn’t wait to leave and get on with our day.

Our Middle School Choir stayed here 4/12-16. The location is great - the immediate area is a bit sketchy, but we never felt unsafe. From the minute we arrived, the staff could not have been more friendly. Georgelina and Monica at the front desk welcomed us like family and were so very helpful throughout our stay. Rooms are bit on the small side but were clean and since we were out and about so much, was not an issue at all. The breakfast each morning was fresh, hot & tasty. Everything from bagels & croissants to fruit/cereals to eggs, bacon, french toast & sausage. The crew kept everything stocked and clean, even during the most crowded times and always greeted us warmly. There is a teeny bar in the lobby which was perfect for a quick glass of wine to end the day. The location is close to all sorts of transportation. Port Authority is across the street, subways are at the end of the block. One tip I found awesome - the front desk will arrange for transportation to the airport. It was less expensive than Uber/Lyft or a taxi and we could book in advance to assure a timely departure.

Quite disappointed with our stay, of all our travels in and around North America, this has been quite poor. The hotel location was great, close to great restaurants, and the closest major subway station, the Port Bus terminal, was just steps away. The hotel is also 10 minutes away from the famous Time Square and Penn station, which is a major transit hub, includes the LIRR station which takes you to JFK airport in 15min. And the staff were nice, especially the folks at the breakfast station. The room was clean but quite small and dated, but WIFI was smooth. The biggest issue was the water in the washroom was always piping hot, we complained about it several times and the reception advised they would send an engineer to fix it but nothing was done. It made for a very dangerous experience since we were always concerned for our young child. Environmentally conscious about changing towels too often but it was quite disturbing to see that our bins were not cleared even though we reminded staff on couple of occasions, and it was terrible that our bins were overflowing throughout our stay there. Breakfast was decent but quite expensive for what was on offer. And the area around the hotel felt safe but the whole place had a strong stench and surprisingly dirty, given where we were!! Not fair to blame it all on the massive tourism, given all those garbage bags simply laid out on the streets and folks rifling through them. All in all, poor value for the money and a disappointing travel experience.

It is located in an area where hotels are clustered along 40th Street. The rooms were large enough but the facilities were old, especially the air conditioning, which I was concerned about when I went to bed at night. It was good to have a bathtub. It was the end of the year, so the traffic was so heavy on the roads around us that I was worried about the noise until midnight. We walked to MoMA, a convenient location for sightseeing. Hotels in New York are expensive, so I honestly don't think it's worth the price, but I can say that I was able to stay in a convenient location with peace of mind.

I chose this hotel for my business trip as a frequent traveler, the location is great everything you need or may want to see is nearby. The rooms are small and cozy but that's just NY. The staff was ok but the front desk was always chatty, unorganized, and sloppy. This hotel needs more people at the front desk who can better represent the company, we get it, personality is a plus but presentation and a certain level of being a trained professional also matters as an Ambassador Elite status I expected better standards. Lastly, make sure a guest leaves the lobby completely before you begin trash-talking them, the front desk and others manning the lobby seem to forget there are other people in the lobby watching and overhearing. This isn't the nicest hotel but I guess you get what you pay for and that includes staff.

Chloe was the only one who seemed the most professional, quiet, and easy to talk to.

We chose the hotel for the convenience of the location. You can easily walk to restaurants nearby as well as Macy’s, Central Park and of course Times Square. Rooms are OK size wise although there is a very small wardrobe. OK for us as we stayed less than a week. It is also difficult to avoid the 3 lifts as they are located beside all the rooms on the floor. The bathroom has a good sized shower and no bath. Annoyingly the shower head could not be height adjusted and there was just a small single shelf above the sink to put toiletries etc. There are plenty of sockets in the room but half didn’t work! We also had problems with the room safe and had to call for an engineer 3 times just as we wanted to go out. On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable and really friendly staff particularly at breakfast and in the bar as well as the safe engineers. Breakfast is in a very small area and we had to queue on a couple of mornings but staff were quick to clear, clean and the breakfast had good choice. However I’m not a fan of paper plates and plastic cutlery!

We booked this hotel after staying in our four points and expected the same high standard, unfortunately we were very disappointed. The hotel is a good location to walk to times squares and other nearby attractions but other hotels are close and most probably better. Reception staff are friendly but accommodation needs much attention. The rooms are basic, furniture very dated, cracked tiles in bathroom, towels very thin. Cleaning appears non existence. There was hairs in the bath and bits of food on the floor. I have attached a photo of the raisin which was on the floor when we arrived and still there when we left, despite asking reception to ensure our room was cleaned properly and this did not occur. On the bedside cabinet we found a label from someone jeans which they had stuck there and was clearly visible but housekeeping had not removed and nor did they when raised cleaning concerns. Blinds were dirty and had to keep closed to prevent people in offices opposite looking in. Room has small amount of lightening and we joked it is to ensure you can see the dirt. There was a light by the door, 2 uplights by the bed and a desk lamp. The corridors are very dark and do not feel safe there.
For the money you will find a hotel in a good location but clean, good standard and feel safe

We had an excellent week in this hotel. Even before we arrived, the hotel gave us an upgrade and tickets to the One World Observatory as we were celebrating out 25th Anniversary.
All the staff, be it Front Desk, Bar, Housekeeping, were always friendly, happy to help, and keen to make the stay as enjoyable as possible.
We had a room on the 30th floor, which gave us an amazing view. The room itself was spacious, a large and very comfy bed, good air con, tea and coffee making facilities, which were replenished daily (with the option of calling at the desk for more if required), a safe (at no extra charge), iron and ironing board, as well as a large smart TV.
The bathroom had a large walk-in shower, with shower gel, conditioner and body wash supplied. There was soap, tissues, mouthwash as well as some other extras by the sink, with a hairdryer also under the sink.
All in all, this was a great base from which to explore New York, and allowed us to sleep well and recover from one day's walking to head off into the next.
Will be happy to return, if we make it back to New York.
