We were staying on our wedding anniversary and we were very happy in our choice. The service is wonderful and everyone was very kind to us. The room is beautiful and huge for NY, the bathroom is amazing. The hotel has a lovely lounge! We'll be back!

Our company books many rooms with The Smyth and we are always beyond pleased. Wether booking rooms for clients or employees, the staff at The Smyth is always friendly and helpful. Rooms are gorgeous-- especially after the renovations-- and the location is perfect. Decor is stunning, and the view is beyond. The food for room service is AMAZING and the...

We are in the hospitality industry and booked our room thru a consolidator when the room was on sale. A week before we were to arrive, the hotel sent a confirmation showing a lower rate than we paid. We tried everything to get something from the hotel. The hotel did nothing; wouldn't honor the lower rate, give us an upgrade,...

It was our first time in NY and we wanted to stay in a truly cool hotel: check! The room was beautiful, clean, enormous, the bed was super comfortable and I really enjoyed the glass wall of the shower. The staff was super nice and friendly. The neighborhood might not be the center of night life, but that's ok since...

I don't usually write reviews, but I truly enjoyed my trip to NYC this year. I mean, NYC is awesome, and there are tons of hotels but this one really is great. It is near a bunch of train stations so going anywhere is super easy. They apparently just finished renovating so the restaurant wasnt fully open, but dinner there...

This is easily the nicest New York City hotel that I have stayed in. The room was quite large, especially compared to other hotels in the city and had an outstanding view. The bathroom had a very upscale look and a huge open shower, which was one of my favorite parts of the room. I would definitely recommend spending some...

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighbourhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighbourhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighbourhood home.
