Pod Times Square hotel garners appreciation for its prime Manhattan location and efficient, clean rooms, with many guests lauding its proximity to attractions and the subway. The modern and practical decor is often highlighted, though the compact nature of the rooms can be a point of contention.
While some travelers commend the quiet atmosphere, others express dissatisfaction with the basic amenities and room sizes. Service quality appears to be a hit or miss, and guests have called out the need for transparency regarding additional fees.

Detailed Reviews
Lets begin by saying this was my husband and I first visit to the Big Apple , What a Way to Start!!
The Pod was the most reasonable priced hotel in the area that offers a modern facility with all the basic essentials needed ..
Finding the hotel was easy , there's a big POD red sign on the building which cant be missed . Melissa checked us in and gave some great advise for breakfast etc. There is a diner around the corner that offers quick , affordably breakfast on a daily basis.
The aroma of the lobby is captivating and instantly puts you at ease .The Room was exactly as displayed online and was perfectly laid out utilizing all spaces efficiently . . Plenty of space to open a suitcase on the floor and still able to walk around the bed. The room was clean and housekeeping always did a good job of replenishing bath gels, towels etc .
Many thanks also to Novia and the gentleman at Concierge as they were super helpful.
We will definitely be back on our next trip.

The location was about a 8-10min walk into Times Square
Going past madam Tussaud's and Ridley's believe it or not
We got a Uber from Newark and it was about $56 one way .
Rooms were small but it's just a Base, we had bunk beds and you know what it was fine, you get what you pay for and we only needed somewhere to sleep it's better then a hostel.
The check in staff was lovely, in general I was pleased with all the staff.
The cool bar looked fab, but I didn't get a chance to use it.
There was a 99cent pizza shop outside.
They provided shampoo and body wash, towels and a kettle if you need it.
Tv was great and I loved the little touches by the bedside like charging points USB and plug, night light
I would stay here again, but ideally need to be a bit more closer to Times Square, because after all day sightseeing the walk back was tiresome.

First time to New York on business, this place although had great reviews was only $70 / night (excluding taxes which is not their fault) so was a little skeptical, but hey here on work so wont be here much anyway!
Hotel is simply put incredible. For the price, the rooms are big enough that you don’t get claustrophobia like I was expecting from some reviews, rooms look like they were cleverly designed by IKEA for maximum room. Super clean throughout the rooms and hotel, easy to walk to the Javits center and all the major attractions, the drinks in the bar down stairs will blow your head off if you drink more than 2, so I don’t know what else I could have asked for only spending $70 / night!
Don’t worry about bringing all your chargers, they have USB outlets throughout the room for all your charging needs.
With the room being small and the outside temperature in January (this morning 27F) the rooms heats up within a couple of minutes when you turn on the heating.
All round the best value for money hotel I have ever stayed in. I couldn’t get this value for money in South Florida where I currently like anywhere. For this money you would be in a 2 star, damp infested flea pit. This in comparison is luxury.
Will definitely be back.

If you are touring around NYC and want a clean hotel room near Time Square and the Subway, stay at the Pod! I was here for one week and found the location to be better and better each day. It is a ten minute walk to Time Square, as a tourist, what more could you want?! Lot's of food and coffee shops near by as well. I will add, after five wonderful days of coming back to a cleaned room with fresh towels, the room service stopped. I found this to be very odd. One person at the front desk was very sorry when I called and said he would make sure the room was cleaned the next day. It was not cleaned and the next person I talked to didn't seem to care.

this was a great location, close to Times Square and the theatre district. I travelled with my daughter so the bunk single beds were ideal. Although the rooms are small, they are perfect for a place to lay your head. The room was thoughtfully laidout with plenty of plugs and USB ports. Each bunk had it's own TV and shelf with 2 plugs and USBs (perfect to plug in my CPAP). The staff was friendly, the concierge was helpful and on checkout, we were able to leave our luggage in storage until 10pm that evening! a perk to allow us a day of sightseeing before heading home. They also discount parking at the conveniently located parking garage across the street. Two nights of parking for $50USD

We were skeptical before going since we saw a few bad reviews, however we had an AMAZING stay. We were greeted by Sahar, she was super professional, polite and inviting. Before we could ask, she upgraded us to a queen bed + a higher floor. We knew the room was going to be small and it was everything we were expecting, and honestly we did not need more room. Everything was working fine, the water pressure was actually good and however hot you wanted the water to be. They do not come clean the room but if you let them know your carbage needs to be emptied they will do it with no problem. Also if you want fresh towels you just need to ask them for some. The location is great, the subway is close by if needed. There could be more common areas but it wasn’t a big deal for us. They also have a indoor parking one block away, and you get a discount with the hotel (they need to validate your parking before checking-out)! I would definitely stay there again and I would definitely recommend!

We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay at the Pod Times Square!! We chose this hotel for its location not far from Times Square, but for being only a couple blocks to the nearest subway station, with convenience stores, drug store, breakfast options, and restaurants all walkable nearby. We also were attracted to the hotel's offer of discounted parking rates at the garage nearby. Our four nights there were nothing but enjoyable! Check-in was easy. The staff was friendly and available for any question we had. We enjoyed our view looking east on 42nd Street as well as of the Empire State Building. The hotel was busy, but our floor was quiet. Our room with a double bed was perfect for us. It was still roomy enough...using the storage under the bed for our suitcase and other stuff. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. The only suggestion I have is each room could have a small box or packet of Kleenex.

+1
Early March 2022 trip to see American Utopia and The Music Man. Ticket prices being what they are, we looked for a bargain hotel. The Pod Times Square was less than $100/night for 2 single bunk beds, a metal chair, and a small clean toilet, sink and shower. The room feels like a sleeper car on a train, or a small cruise ship room. Very compact, not a place to hang out in. (For those who intend to try, each bed has it's own reading light and television, and there are plenty of plugs & USB ports for phones, watches, etc.) There is a safe too, although ours didn't lock properly.
The front desk crew was friendly and welcoming. We were able to get into our room at noon on check in day, which probably won't be typical as tourism picks up in NYC. One. of the economies is that the room isn't cleaned during your stay, we were fine with that, but not everyone will be.
This hotel is near Port Authority. It's a 10 minute walk to the heart of Times Square. There are coffee shops, restaurants, and a small grocery store within a block of the hotel.

I booked this hotel because it was a great value near the theater district with good reviews. I was not disappointed. The room is the size of a small bedroom and perfect for 1 person. I met a couple who said their room was tight for 2 people. I had a bunk bed room and couldn’t imagine having to share the room with another person. The noise level from other guests was non existent and might be because the rooms weren’t large enough to accommodate a group. I also didn’t get a lot of street noise in my 12th floor room. I didn’t receive housekeeping the three days I was there but noticed on the last day that there’s a double sided magnetic sign (sleeping tightly/service please) you need to put on the door to get service. The shower water heated up quickly. The hvac was quiet and worked well, kept the room warm with freezing temps outside. There are six elevators that serve the guest floors and one always arrived quickly. I would stay here again.

My family stayed here in 2 rooms. First, if you are driving it is super easy to access and there is a large parking garage right across the street. Customer service at check in was super friendly and we were able to check in early. The rooms are small (you know that going in of course) but plenty comfortable for 2 people.
I can't say enough about the customer service. I left my Kindle in the room and called the next day to see if they had it. The housekeeper, May, had turned it in and Kevin immediately shipped it back to me and stayed in touch to make sure I received it. Thank you!
The tiki bar in the hotel is also very nice and the drinks are amazing.
