Great stay in a big friendly hostel, loads to do, interesting area, good subway links. Much much better that staying in a downtown hotel. Its on the upper west side, so a 5 minute subway ride downtown. Interesting non touristy area, good bars and restaurants...More

The 1 train stops at 103 and Broadway, 1-city block east of Broadway on Amsterdam at 103rd street. Perfectly safe for a female solo traveler.

I think you have to purchase a bed because the lockers correspond to the bed/dorm. Just call them and they can tell you if they can accommodate.

I think the cafe opens at 7am. If you stay in the rooms that provide breakfast they will give you tickets to use in the cafe.
