Instead of dealing with construction noise at the Hilton Fashion District, I walked over to the Doubletree. It was the best decision I ever made. When I walked in Kelvin immediately recognized my status and called the maid to see if a room was available. While I waited, he offered breakfast. All of his actions were unsolicited by me and...

Doubletree by Hilton Chelsea is very far away from the Hilton or the Doubletree standars. The rooms are really small, the carpets both on the rooms and corridors do not look very clean and the furniture is really cheap. If you, like me, have the missfortune of staying in floor 2, you'll have an army of vacuum cleaners in the...

Staff are very inviting. nothing was too much trouble. The bar just off reception was an ideal base for drinks at the end of walking around the city during the day. There were various small but thoughtful touches such as water infused with fresh fruit available daily int the reception area, warm cookies provided on checking into the hotel, and...

Perfect location! Madison Square Garden is just a 5 minute walk from this hotel. Our room was always clean. 1604, Empire State Building view. Housekeeping did a great job. The bell man was very friendly and helped us with storing our bags till our room was available. Travel tip: I would advise tipping the bell man. We did and while...

Good job folks :) I liked the fact that when I wanted an alcoholic drink in the morning, I was promptly served. In San Francisco it is harder to get a drink that early in the day. People here are too into "nature", "hiking", "biking", "environment", etc. I get so irritated here that I sometimes wish I was in NYC....

Do yourself a favor and spend a little bit more and stay somewhere else! My wife and I are from the suburbs of NY, and we decided to book a night in the city after a billy joel concert. All my wife wanted to do was go home! It didn't feel safe, the rooms are tiny, the bathroom was a...

Great location for MSG and other things to do. Easy to get taxi for other locations. Could have more restaurants close by, but that is the way it goes. The mattress and shower are fantastic and the flavoured water qvailable in the lobby is a nice addition

This is my second stay at this property. The only downer is that maybe some of the towels have seen better days, and maybe the mattress needs to be tossed. Saying this, these were minor issues and can be expected sometimes. What I will say is this. Of all the hotels I have stayed at, the staff is by far...

In addition to the hotel somehow not having our reservation for a breakfast-included stay, the room itself was dingy and poorly lit, the room service food was inedible, and the elevators from anywhere but the lobby simply didn't work. Won't be staying here again!

I stayed here three nights on a business trip. The room was clean, dark, and quiet - which is primarily what I am looking for in a hotel. I had less than a one mile walk to both of my work locations. Central Park was only 1.6 miles away for early morning exercise. I had heard complaints about elevator wait...

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
