We unexpectedly found ourselves staying another night in New York so after ringing around and finding most places booked out ended up staying at the Doubletree Chelsea by default really. The room, which cost a total of USD 384.72 on a Monday night, was small but had all the required amenities and though rather average it was completely fine. It...

Very close to MSG, empire state building, and Macy's/shopping. Multiple subway stations within a few blocks. Easy accessibility to the Lincoln Tunnel and parking is reasonable by NYC standards, close to the hotel, and easy. Good value for money in the area. Rooms were tidy, but had a couple small issues regarding getting linens. Management eventually resolved these concerns. No...

Very convenient a few mins walk to the 6 train. The hotel is clean and functional. Rooms are a little small but the bed was king size so it was fine. Bathroom was clean and we had an abundance of towels. Front of house and staff in general was amazing. Would stay again!

The hotel staff was extremely polite and helpful. They went out of their way to meet our needs, and always did so with a smile. The room, though small, was very clean and comfortable. The location was amazing. Zero complaints!! Would definitely stay again!

I reserved an Empire State Building view room. This description is quite misleading. In order to see the Empire State Building, you need to really try to see it. The room is a closet, enough room to walk around the bed. If you're staying here as a crash pad, then it may work for you but it was claustrophobic. The...

We stayed in the room with 2 dbl beds and ESB view. Room was very tight but doable (don't even think about that size room for more than two people). Great location. Very generous shower power and volume, almost to the point of wasteful, but way better than the usual shower. Nice staff. Unlike previous reviewers, the elevators worked fine...

This hotel needs working on, the rooms are dated and beginning to fall apart. Simple things like the iron leaked all over my shirt, just as I was getting ready to go for a family meal. The beds weren't great in our room. Didn't manage a good night's sleep once. The brand will only suffer from not maintaining its hotels!....

There are only 2 elevators that barely work. At one point it took over 10 minutes to get an elevator down to the lobby. The rooms have poor sound insulation. I kept hearing beeps and street noises throughtout the night despite being on the 12th floor. The bed sheet was threadbare with a hole. The lampshade had a hole.

Really great small Doubletree in the heart of Chelsea. If you are a retailer, this property puts you in the center of accessory wholesale Mecca! New really good resturants have popped up and several Starbucks too. A hidden gem in Luna Cafe across the street from the hotel. GREAT coffee and to go breakfast stuff. Chilled boiled eggs with arugula...

Had a impromptu reunion with a few high school friends, convenient location. Parking is expensive but what do you expect it's New York! They have a good breakfast spread a bit pricy though. Otherwise had a good time, friendly staff, clean room and bath.

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
