The Inn on 23rd is a tiny family run hotel in an excellent mid town location. A little Heath Robinson-ish - lights that were never quite sure whether they were on or off, a Neolithic steam radiator that wheezed away all night, so not for those who like the Hilton. But so welcoming and with so many thoughtful touches of...

Thanks for a great stay! We drove down from Boston for my birthday and had a great time. There is a nice diner next door and easy access to the subway on 23rd st. Ask for museum passes at the front desk if that's what you are heading out to do in NYC. Will be back...

We arrived after a harrowing 36h air travel and were immediately welcomed in our comfortable, spacious, quiet room (Cabin). The Library is so like one's own living room, 24h tea, coffee, snacks, comfortable chairs, pleasant outlook, surrounded by personal memoriablia and other guests. Recommendations for eating, seeing all excellent, and access to MOA was opportunity not to be missed. Only...

We loved everything about our stay -- Thomas was so helpful & accomodating. We really appreciated the warm hospitality, the charming room, the excellent breakfasts. Location was also great -- could walk to many places &/ or take a short cab ride.

The Inn on 23rd is the perfect place in which to feel at home in New York City. Each room is unique, decorated with eclectic style; ours had a huge slanted skylight which could be covered with a very effective black out shade. The staff were always available to answer questions and offer directions, while the Inn's guest passes to...

As we were coming from London to New York for our first trip we did not want a fiberglass and stainless steel soul-less hotel. The Inn on 23rd was perfect. Yes it was quirky, with the "night porter" slumped over his desk. (He is a life sized puppet). The library/breakfast room was different and the other guests were friendly and...

Unfortunately I msde my decision to stay at the Inn on 23rd based on reviews that were posted to the TripAdvisor site. Every year for the past six years we have attended the USOpen tennis tournament and have stayed at a location highly recommended by the great reviewers of TripAdvisor. We decided to do something different this year and felt...

An incredible surprise! If you want to stay in the Chelsea area, I doubt you can beat this place. The first time my partner and I visited NYC, we stayed in a very cheap hostel--great if you need to be super cheap, but not comfy, pretty, or inviting. This time we visited along with a girl friend so we split...

This is our NEW favorite place to stay in NYC. The bus stops right out the door and there are 3 subway stations within 1 1/2 blocks. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Dorothy, the cat, was another plus for us. The breakfast area is very spacious, quiet and roomy and the breakfast and coffee every morning are great....
