The Gem Hotel is very located on the same road as times square, it is also very close to the subway. The rooms are quite small but are kept to a very good standard everyday with fresh towels and linen. One side of the bed had metal bars coming out the side, i banged my ankle on this daily and...

The room was pretty small but perfect for couples. The location is in close proximity to the subway as well as a lot of restaurants with all kinds of food. The staff was very kind and service minded, and was very glad to help in every aspect.

Stayed at the GEM Hotel Chelsea for a friend's wedding. Everyone was incredibly helpful and friendly. They upgraded us to the penthouse (I'm still not sure why, but it was no extra charge!), which had a really cool rooftop deck.

We stayed at The Gem in Chelsea for a total of 13 nights, and the stay was amazing!! Everyone working there is so nice and accomodating! From our super late check-in at 3 am with Sandra, to our reluctant check-out with Jasmine, everyone made us feel sooo welcome! They went out of their way to help with any questions or...

Very nice hotel-service is great-staff are helpful and friendly. The room was small but spotless and very comfortable. The air conditioning worked very well-this is a must in NYC in the summer. My son stayed in the room for a week and the staff even did his laundry! We took over in the room for the weekend. Couldn't be happier....

Some people say, that the rooms are too small. But I've to say, that for a city trip it was big enough. We stayed there 5 nights and had a great time in the hotel with a big nice rooftop patio. We enjoyed the view from our room window to the Empire State Building. If I'm going back to NYC,...

The room and amenities were definitely very nice, and location was great. Our room was very small (the bathroom only had a shower) but I was expecting that. What really bothered me was the mildewy smell. I smelled it the entire time i was there and could not wait to leave.

This is a convenient spot to spend an evening in New York City. Located in Chelsea, this hotel is in walking distance to Greenwich Village, The Meatpacking District, the High Line and Penn Station. The room was very small, as many in NYC are. But it was clean, simple, minimal and reasonably priced during my stay. The wifi worked well....

Stayed for one night with my husband. We came to town to see a pop up art show at one of the nearby galleries, and walking the High Line has been on my list of things to do in NYC for forever so this was a perfect location for us. Got a nice deal on Hotwire for $200 all in...

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
