Overall this hotel was nice. Lobby had a great atmosphere. When checking in associate was very friendly and even called once we got to our room to make sure everything was ok. The room itself was smaller than what I was used to even for a hotel in NY. The room felt old with just an updated paint job. Bathroom...

Great location and nice concierge. At first I wasn't happy with my room or view and I contacted the front desk and they immediately provided me with a new room. This allowed for a much more comfortable stay. If you're used to a South Beach W, this is not it. Typical room size for NYC. What I thought would be...

We stayed in the Fantastic Suite, which has wonderful views, big windows, tiny balcony- loved it! On the not so positive side- the sofa thing is so outrageously uncomfortable to relax on. Time to make a change in the decor.

Stayed at the W this weekend – fantastic location for seeing a show – and within a mile to central park. There are a few subway stops close by as well and a cab stand right outside the building. We arrived very early (9:30 am) so our room was not ready, but they held our bags for us while we...

Great service most of the time, really fresh and clean room, though a bit small. The bed was wonderful and I slept like a child! I really liked this place and I would stay here next time I'm in NY.

This particular W seems to be coasting on the reputation of the chain. If you can get a great deal on a room (check the AAA rates), then take it; but I wouldn't pay more than $250/night. What's GREAT about it: the location can't be beat for midtown. 50th & Lex, easy walking distance to Central Park, shopping and several...

Was a bit concerned after booking given its negative reviews of the location, posh styling, and small rooms, but everything went very well. This was our first time to NYC, wanted to do touristy things, but also wanted a newer hotel that didnt cost an arm and a leg. After our flight we decided to take the bus and the...

We have stayed at several W Hotels in New York and elsewhere including the W Times Square, and the W Union Square and this hotel is the worst by an absolute mile! The rooms are unbelievably TINY!!! There are loads of rooms in this hotel with people coming and going at all times of the day and night. It's very...

Very hip hotel - the lobby is bustling and noisy, with techno music. Downside - the lobby is too loud to have a business meeting. The room was clean but small. Great location for mid-town business, but you will need to meet somewhere else.

The W is great if you're looking explore the city and not spend anytime in your hotel. It's really just a bolt hole to use as the rooms are a little on the small (and not particularly luxurious) side. I think this W is a little tired and in need of a refurb. On the plus side, the staff were...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
