I wasn't that thrilled with my experience at the Larchmont; the bell staff were excellent though. My room was so tired looking; the metal blind on my window should have been replaced years ago. It was a bent and in bad shape. The floor in my room sunk in a few spots and the furniture look like it was from...

An ideal location. A bijou hotel on a quiet street. More European in style than North American. Small ,comfortable ,quiet room. We shared bathrooms but they were impeccably clean. Helpful, pleasant staff. Good price. Elevator. A very good experience

I was going to NY for the first time and stayed here. It was petty great for what i needed, which was really just a place to store my stuff and sleep. It would've been quieter had there not been construction next door, and the bathrooms could've been nicer, but really you're going to New York to see the city,...

We were staying in NY over New Year's Eve, and wanted somewhere in the village. The location is great - close to Union Square. The price was reasonable, but there were just too many negative aspects to the hotel. They don't have any non-smoking rooms (or didn't - I'm sure not sure the law changed). Thus, our room smelt very...

My friend often stays at the Larchmont on trips to New York, so she recommended that another friend and I join her there on a recent trip to Manhattan. She warned us about the shared bathrooms/toilets (there is a wash basin in each room, I believe) and the small rooms, but praised the location and price (for $700 total for...

The location was great, mid block and quiet. We stayed in a small double the first night and upgraded to a large double for 4 more nights. The difference in the two rooms was great. We paid about 10 dollars more for the large double and it was definitely worth it. Nice to have breakfast included. The bathrooms could be...

For my friend's birthday, we decided to stay overnight in NYC because she wanted to shop in Greenwich Village's funky boutiques. We're from suburban Fairfield County, CT; you can understand the need for something other than mall stores. Our requirements:: Affordable, safe & very clean, great location for shops, restaurants. Winner! Very affordable (total for 3 of us for 1...

This was my first time ever staying in a hotel for a weekend trip to NYC, and it was a blessing to find the Larchmont. For the price, and the location, it cannot be beat. The staff did not make me feel uncomfortable or disposable as I'd feared given the fact that it's so budget. Rather, they behave like well...

It's difficult to complain about The Larchmont when you consider the price (and I got the four nights for the price of three offer too). But I have to admit I was a bit culture-shocked at the state of the place when I went to my room and wondered if I could actually stay here for four nights. It *is*...

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighbourhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
