Admittedly I paid for a bigger room. When shared bathrooms were advertised I imagined dormitory style bathrooms not the neat little bathrooms in the corridor right next to my room. Its hard to imagine better value. Its in a neat little neighbourhood with an excellent restaurant on the next corner. My only criticism is the breakfast. Too many carbs.Choice only...

Stayed here for New Years eve 2015, best value in town. Located in the west village, where other hotels are 3/4 times the price. Beautiful street lined with tall trees, and short walk to subway. Stayed in a double room 5W and would definitely recommend. Although they have shared bathrooms this should not put you off staying as they were...

I love this place, and have stayed here a few times, when I just want to jet in for a fun night (or day) on the town and don't want to burn valuable rewards points or cash on a room at one of the fancier hotels. If you don't mind (or, in fact, relish) a step-up from a hostel feel,...

Nice 'old style' hotel in the quiet Greenwich village, few meters from the 5th Ave. Very very clean. The room is large for the standards of New York, the wifi and the continental breakfast are included. The staff helps you with any request. A nice kitchen is available (at each floor) with fridge and microwave. The toilet is outside the...

We booked the Superior Double Room wich had a small wash basin in the room. The room was spacious and clean. The Wifi was OK but is better when you have a room closer to the reception, our room was at the end of the hall. The staff of the reception is very friendly and helpfull. There is a fan...

Hotels in Manhattan are usually the most expensive part of a trip there, but not if you stay at the Larchmont! The rooms are fairly bare bones, but clean, continental breakfast is included in the room rate, and the location is fabulous. The only drawback is the bathrooms, which are shared (every room has a sink, but no toilet &...

Every time I visited New York. I always stay in this Hotel. The rate is worth. The room is clean and cozy. The place is really good. The share bathroom is always clean. Everybody is accomodating and nice. I can't say any negative words. I really love the place.

I love the Larchmont. It is NOT for everyone and it's not for long stays. This is because it's European style, with the W.C. down the hall. BUT, you cannot beat the price and location! It's in my favorite neighborhood in Greenwich Village on a beautiful, tree-lined street. This is a place to stay when you plan to be busy...

Larchmont Hotel was a great experience for me as a solo traveler celebrating a birthday in the city! It was a short walk to the nerdy things I enjoy, such as Strand Bookstore and Forbidden Planet Comics. The room was cozy and clean and the neighbors were quiet. Yes, the bathrooms are shared but I never had to wait to...

This is the place to stay weather you visit NYC for business of pleasure. It's location is fantastic in the heart of The Village yet close to the most exciting places in the city. Staff is great, diverse environment and good facilities. Bathroom facilities, although shared, are very clean. I recommend this hotel!

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighbourhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
