Like a little country inn but in NYC. A great way to escape the hustle and bustle of NYC and close to Central Park. Classic NYC diner two doors along. Friendly staff. Very quiet rooms which was greatly appreciated.

Newton didn't feel like a hotel more like a country guest house. Friendly, small. Our room was very quiet which was appreciated after staying in the hustle and bustle of downtown. Classic NY diner two doors down.

Thank you kindly for your review and thank you for the comparison to a "country guest house". I'm happy that you did feel that you had a place you can come to and relax after spending the day in our fast city. Thank you and we hope that you will choose us again.

Hotel Newton is located one block south of the 96 St metro station on Broadway just below the border between the Upper West Side and Harlem. The hotel is clean. My room #409 was just spacious enough not to be small, but this is New York, and their pricing is decent for the space you get. Check in and out...

For the money it is fine and fair. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and clean, and the bathroom was clean and (the only part of the hotel) modern albeit small. If the neighbor location is convenient and important to you this hotel might be a good choice. On the challenging side (you want to save $, this is...

Hello to you and thank you for your review. I feel that 1974 was a very cool year but I do agree that a hotel in New York should not look as if we are still in 1974. That's why we are constantly upgrading and updating all aspects of the hotel to give it a modern feel. Along with giving...

The choice of this hotel was made for me by another member of the party, I personally would not have chosen it myself. The hotel is between 94th - 95th street and I am sure in its day it was considered good. The hotel only has a lobby area with 2 settees and a few easy chairs, there is no...

This is an old hotel but comfortable and clean and quiet. The rooms are small, so do not expect spaciousness. But if you are looking for a quiet, less hectic place to rest your head at night, this is a good choice. It is very near the subway and there is a great diner next door for breakfast.

This place was nice and clean. The room was TINY!! But it did have a nice sized closet. We got NO cell service in our room, which was annoying. But as far as location and a place to sleep, can't beat it for the price

Modest accommodations, very well located in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. As many Manhattan hotels, the building is quite old, but maintenance is ok. The room I got had three will, but behind the drapes and shades the window was very dirty from the outside, which was not a great loss because the only thing out the window was...

First of all, the location is just right. Within steps are plenty of shoppes, restaurants and things to do. The hallways could be lit a bit more, they seemed very dark for a hotel. The rooms are very NYC size, very small. The only complaint I had was there is NO heat control and the room was WAY TO HOT!...

Well located in west upper manhattan if you to business or Columbia University. Near to Harlem and full of different churches and some shopping, incredible amount of coffee bars, and full of restaurants ! The hotel perform well, vintage (real) decoration , really good service people and good breakfast in the close Manhattan diner.
