I frequently stay here for work. The staff is friendly, polite, and professional, having helped me with room requests and items left behind. The rooms are modern with comfortable beds and nice bathrooms, (yes, they are small, but this is New York). Great location away from the crowds. I have a choice where I stay in this area and always...

Great place to stay. The location is great with the subway just a minute away and a Starbucks and CVS as well. The hotel is clean and nicely managed. The rooms are great with a nice sized bathroom. The shower is tricky however and floods the floor most days, the hotel staff is very nice but the restaurant staff are...

This was our second stay at the Wyndham Garden Hotel. It's in such a great spot, away from all the crowds. Eataly is on the corner, with the Flat Iron Building and Madison Square Park down the street. Walking distance from Penn Station. Raj and Kitty were great help.

The location is fantastic, steps from Eataly and an easy walk or subway commute to the best attractions in New York. The room was small for 2 people, but did have a king size bed & desk, and a decent size bathroom. The Amenities were OK, but a small fridge and bathrobes would have been a nice touch. Overall, a...

If you want a great hotel (quiet, completely renovated, lots of hot water, easy check-in/check-out, then check out this hotel on West 24th Street between Broadway and Sixth Ave. We stayed four nights and were very satisfied with the quality and appearance of the room, the cleaning, and the fact that the hotel is central to everything you need. And...

Great location in Chelsea, and suitable for both business and pleasure. The lobby is intimate and the rooms are decently sized., but the price is worth the while. The staff is very helpful, the rooms are clean and everything works. I've stayed there several times and they provide gym access. On their webpage it states that it is to the...

This is a preferred hotel for my company. Was not disappointed due proximity to eatily, local restaurants, and a good bar/restaurant connected to hotel. It was a quick in and out trip. The hotel was NY small, but clean. It had a safe, which is not always available in all hotels. Convenient if traveling alone or have limited time to...

Fourth visit to NY so decided to stay in the Chelsea area away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square. The hotel is very close to the Flatiron building and an easy stroll to most of the main attractions, Empire State Building and Maddison Square Garden about 10 minute stroll. Times Square about 15 minutes. We walked up to...

It's a great location, with super-helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are on the small side (but I already knew that) and they're clean and well-maintained. Great location and value, but if you're expecting more than a small-ish room, you'll be paying much more. My only quibble this time is that we stayed in a suite that had a pull-out...

We found a crawling insect about 1/2 inch long on our bedspread. The lever to regulate water temp from cold to hot was not working. It didn't get any better after the staff told us 'I will have it replaced.' Wyndham's sign on our bed touted its white sheets but we found stains (blood?) on our bed sheets. We left...

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
