This used to be a solid reasonable choice for me. I've stayed a number of times and easily overlooked the issues the property has not fully kept up on.

Yes, the price is set correctly for the condition and age of the hotel. But now that they slapped a $14. parking charge on me I'm no longer willing to deal with substandard rooms, creepy people walking around late night, and sometimes noisy environment. Images are from Rm. 164

TOP NOTCH Service from the Front Desk, housekeeping & facilities team consistently. I've had interactions with many of them over the course of my visits have all been impeccable. Excellent hiring & training choices are evident.

Sadly, this was my last visit. No longer a great deal.

This hotel's location makes it very useful for all types of visitors (work, family, vacation, etc.). I would like to believe there are other hotels nearby that offer similar if not, better amenities for same price. With easy access to San Diego Airport, Ocean Beach, La Jolla Beach and other nearby destinations it rates very well in terms of location. However, overall appearance, room quality and cleanliness needs improvement for me to want to stay there again. The room floor was so layered with soot, I took it upon myself to wash the entire room floor. Not exactly a chore I was intending on doing but i didn't complain because we got in very late on first night. We freshened up the room with scented air fresheners and floor cleaner which make out stay more comfortable.

When i needed lodging fast on a night where almost every hotel room and hostel bunk was booked out citywide, this hotel came through. Was a bit more pricey than what I typically aim for, but beggars cannot be choosers in my situation.

All staff I interacted with were friendly, and were able to answer all questions I had. The room was spotless and was surprisingly large to me, though the latter observation is likely influenced by six years of primarily staying in hostels.

Highlight of the stay was the bed; it was so comfortable. Can't recall a previous trip where I've gotten such a good night's sleep, hotel or hostel!

Only gripe that I have is it didn't appear housekeeping had cleaned my room, judging by the fact the previous night's dirty towels were still present in the bathroom, and my bed was exactly as I left it in the morning.

Other than that, it was a satisfactory stay to get me out of a major bind.

The person who checked us in and the supervisor (I didn't catch his or her name) were wonderful and very accommodating. The motel itself is not worth the money. I paid a $75 dog fee and there were obviously pets in the room before I got it (hair in the sofa). In addition, they seem to reuse the shampoo bottles if they are partially full. I went to ask housekeeping for another and she gave me an almost empty one. On top of that, the rooms were obviously smoking at one point in time. The walls are yellow, the fans and AC were yellow, the room smelled like they had tried to get it fresh smelling, but it wasn't de-smoked professionally in the first place. There was also paint missing on parts and the first room we were in (which thank goodness the front desk changed us out of) was missing drawer pulls and the smoke detector was yellow. The bed was also rock hard and the linens were somewhat stained (clean, but stained). The freezer in the refrigerator was completely filled with ice (looked like it had never been defrosted). It was so bad that at one point the ice broke off and landed in the bottom in the middle of the night. The only good thing was the rooms were split (sofa in one room, bed in the next sliding glass between)so my husband could watch tv (with the one remote for 2 tvs) while I read in the other room. To top it off, I wasn't told it would be $14 a day for parking (in a lot with construction all over) until after I had checked in and given my credit card. When I came down to change rooms they then had me sign something saying it was $14 a day. By that time I was already tired from travel and didn't want to fight it. I was really upset when the person that checked out before me turned her parking passes in and wasn't charged (she inquired about it but was told it wasn't on the bill so no charge). I am so very disappointed by a Wyndham property.

Absolutely worst hotel I have stayed at in a very long time. Iv stayed here years ago and it’s not the same. Very dirty something on floor they used to clean made it’s dangerously slippery, holes in bathroom door with horrible patch, broken fixtures and electrical covers not secure and bare wires exposed, not enough towels I called front desk for extra towels was told they did not have any and girl at front said she was not going to look either, spa had no water it had the spay light pulled out sitting at bottom sand a couple cones sitting around very dangerous and was not disclosed at check in, hotel staff was very rude and could care less. Ants in room and staff did not seem to want to concern them selfs with that. No luggage carts were to be found. All trash cans around hotel were overflowing and stunk. Only 1 trash can in room. Shower head very low and if your tall does not work. Elevator did not have current license and letter about obtaining it was dated 10/2020. This hotel ruined our trip and we had been staying more than 2 days I would have left. Very expensive for this run down hotel. Do not recommend.

This was so disappointing. I got this room at an elevated price because I wanted the points for my companion pass through Southwest and could not believe I paid all of that money for this hotel. I deserved to get some of my money back. Our towels were dingy, the room was dingy and the toilet would not flush properly. There was a pressure problem so it literally took the toilet a couple of minutes to flush. There were ants in the room and behind the bathroom door was filthy (ugh). The entertainment center was broken at the bottom and the elevator permit expired in 2018. I suggest shutting the hotel down until renovations are complete because the money paid for this room was totally not worth it. Wyndham totally disappointed me with this one and Southwest did too.

This place is disgusting. I wouldn't even have my worst enemy stay there. First the staff was rude and unaccommodating. When I asked a question the person at the front desk asked me if I wanted to cancel my room and he would give me all my money back. I asked for what I made a reservation for... two beds and a baby crib. Then he gave me a key for a room that only had one king size bed. Finally, I received a key for the 3rd floor. No problem but the elevator did not quite make it up to the 3rd floor as I stumbled out of the elevator. The floor was disgustingly filthy (the baby's pajama feet bottom were black with dirt and so were our feet) and the bathroom was filthy too. We had to clean the crib when it arrived and ask for clean sheets for the crib. The maintenance man said we need to clean the bathtub before we use it. The hairdryer was disgusting. When we left the following morning, I brought the hairdryer to the front desk and she wouldn't even take it out of the bag. She said, "I can see it, I don't need to take it out. Wyndham has a better reputation than this!!!! How disgusting.

This was a huge disappointment. Whoever they hired to take the pictures did a hell of a job because if you go by the pictures, it looks like you’re getting a really good deal. When we got there my husband and I looked at each other and immediately thought the same thing. “Looks NOTHING like the pictures”. The rooms are dingy and smelly even though they were remodeled. There was an iron, but no ironing board. The toilet didn't flush, no coffee pot, no remote for the tv. Ive stayed in 2 star hotels better than this 3 star “luxury” hotel. All i can say is do yourself a favor and don’t stay here. If you are thinking that you’re going to get what you see in the pictures, you’re not! The funny thing is, i overheard a couple talking in the parking lot saying “this looks nothing like the pictures. Oh! and I almost forgot! Lol. The icing in the cake is my husband let the front desk know that the toilet was broken and about 40minutes later the handy man just WALKS IN! without knocking or anything. He just uses his key and walks in! Smh. Too much.

This place might have some remodeled rooms, but overall is the worst hotel I have ever stayed. The green areas in front of the rooms and next to the parking lots are filled with spider webs and huge spiders. The stairs smelled like urine all the time. The elevator area is super dirty, the ice machines are incredibly moldy and old. There were homeless people dumping trash outside the rooms at all times. The pool is open 27/7 thus people are making noises at late hours at night. The staff can be somewhat rude and they are for sure understaffed and overworked. The card to get in the room malfunctioned 3 different times, it was a nightmare trying to get in our room. To make things worse, the smoke detector was out of battery and started making non-stop beeping noise. The staff decided to remove it from the ceiling and we were left without a smoke detector. This was hazardous and punishable by the California law SB-1394 Dwelling safety: carbon monoxide and smoke detectors.(2011-2012). This hotel might be close to San Diego Mission Beach but it is not worth it. I would never recommend it and I would never stay in it again.

The hotel staff and check in experience was great. Ask for Warren, he is awesome. Everyone was very helpful and went out of their way to accommodate us. There were 4 of us in 2 rooms and they made sure that our rooms were very close together.
