Run down hotel, and lack of service as far as calling the hotel. Not the greatest neighborhood location as lots of homeless. Room was awful for the price. Would much rather stay at holiday inn then here.

The people are great! If you can get in a room Juana cleans you are lucky. The room is spacious enough and the bed comfortable. The picture of the room is true. They have done a nice job redecorating, especially since this is an older building. And the rate was very good. The unexpected street construction was over with by Monday...

I'm laying here at 10pm at the Bristol and have figured out why they put earplugs on the night stand. There's overnight construction going on below my window. It sounds like an orchestra of power washers and drills. Absolutely unbelievable to me that they didn't say anything at check in. There are plenty of options for hotels in this area....

The City of San Diego had scheduled overnight road work right outside of the hotel recently, which is what caused the noise you described in your review. We are so sorry about the noise and disturbance during your stay. Unfortunately, we are unable to control or change the City's road work plans, even though we certainly wish we could do...

Very nice and big room. The location is excellent. It is only a couple of blocks away from 5th avenue and it is also walking distance to Little Italy where lots of good food is. The staff was helpful and friendly, too.

A short walk from the train station. Rooms were large and the coffee in the room was great. Some floors being renovated, but no noise at night. Beds comfortable and bathrooms a good size. Amenities good, but a small fitness centre. Helpful staff.

If you want a boutique hotel instead of a run of the mill corporate hotel, then The Bristol could just be the place for you. The staff was very friendly and attentive, the room was very clean and tech friendly, and the location is great. It was an easy Uber ride to the Gaslamp District, and within walking distance to...

The hotel: This is a lovely boutique hotel in downtown San Diego. It appears this property was recently renovated, though I'm not sure if all the rooms are completed at this point. The lobby is nice and airy. Checking in was pretty simple and the front desk was extra helpful with my late arrival. (Shout out to Chase, you were...

The room is roomy and nicely designed. The service is OK. A few workers were friendly and others ignore you. It was very noisy being on the street. Also watch your step in the lobby. There is a place where the carpet meets the floor in an odd way that causes you to trip.

We stayed for just a quick night in SD. Room was clean, spacious, and we even received a nice note from the person we booked through. Thanks Elizabeth for taking care of us! I'd recommend this hotel if you're looking to stay near the Gaslamp Quarters. Great location!

I've had many weekend stays in San Diego, and even though I've tried a few higher-end/chain properties over the years, I really think the Bristol wins on location and service. You can walk to the fun of Gaslamp in just a few moments, yet you're just far enough for people who don't want to hear it go late into the...
