We spent 2 nights at the Kona Kai in a 2nd floor Marina View room for $339 a night over Columbus Day Weekend. Unfortunately we also got to attend 2 weddings with a PA system blaring wedding music and speeches, hipster guitar guy, with loud and drunk party guest, all from the comfort of our patio. Closing our patio slider...

We appreciate the feedback and sincerely apologize for the disturbances shared here. While we do maintain time constraints on volume in the interest of each guest, we're always happy to provide alternate room options should yours miss the mark. With a range of suites available across the resort, we're confident in our ability to offer one best suited to your...

Lovely ambiance, fair service, food not good. I ordered the poke appetizer. I tried to eat it, had to send it back. The manager graciously took it off my bill. My friend had ordered the chicken wraps. That was ok. I have had delicious breakfast there before, it will be awhile before i try again.

only two types of rooms, suite which is one bed with a small sitting area that we booked, not happy with it. went to change rooms, rude and disrespectful enough to start our stay out bad. Accused us of things we didn't do, well we did one small thing and took a bottle of water form a wedding, but that...

The room and hotel as a whole was nice and well maintained and the property was beautiful. But the customer service was mediocre. No one ever picked up the breakfast room service order off our door knob overnight. Nor did anyone apologize for it. Later when we ordered a take out flat-bread pizza was ordered from the pool bar, it...

Our sincerest apologies for the dining concerns, Hans, as these are as frustrating to hear as they must have been to experience. We'd like to assure you of their atypical nature and will certainly be following up on your behalf to make swift correction to the concerns. We booked a last minute trip and decided on Kona Kai. The service was good. Our room was nice, had very comfortable bed, and a great view of the bay, we enjoyed meals on the balcony while watching sailboats The elevator wasn't working on the day we checked out, and a gentleman that worked at the resort (maintenance engineer) noticed...

Having a child who recently began attending college in San Diego, we have made several recent trips and have stayed at this property twice. The first time it exceeded expectations. Even though we are loyal Marriott customers, with an upgraded room poolside, great view and good service overall it made us want to come back for another stay. Now? I...

Beautiful location, excellently trained and helpful, pleasant front desk staff, very updated facilities. The meeting facilities were also excellent. The on-site restaurant has excellent views of the marina on one side and the front of the hotel offers easy access to harbor walks.

Like I said a very special thanks to the front desk for making my stay feel like I wasn't even there on business. I had a very rough trip flying in to San Diego for some business meetings and as soon as I arrived at the Kona Kai everything turned around. It was great. Check in was smooth, beautiful lobby....

Great resort at the end of Shelter Island, San Diego. Nice amenities, bar with great music and excellent but reasonably priced food. The resort staff is very friendly, helpful and attentive (thanks in particular to Najee).

Najee and Minjoo are by far the most amazing staff at Kona Kai. I also have to say Trish is amazing and I felt like all three of these front desk employees were my people to connect with 24/7. They managed to resolve any problems or concerns that arised in perfectly timed manner which made my job much more smoother!...
