The best part of our stay was meeting Ann, the host. She is warm, friendly and knows San Diego like the back of her hand. She was very helpful with suggesting places to visit and restaurants. She was a delight to talk to. She gets a good number of repeat guests which speaks to people's satisfaction level.

Our stay at Hillcrest House was perfect except it wasn't long enough. The accommodations were great and in a great location. Ann was very helpful in helping us plan our day. We stayed in the cottage which was perfect for two couples who are traveling together.

You can't ask for a better location in San Diego. It's minutes from Balboa Park, the airport and a short walk to the center of Hillcrest. The rooms are nicely appointed and very comfortable. It's a quiet oasis in the bustle that is San Diego. There's also a very nice continental breakfast available each morning. Fresh baked muffins, fruit, cereals,...

I stayed for 1 week and had a lovely time. Amanda met me at the front door when I arrived and gave me the run down on the room amenities, where to park, and breakfast times. I had the Zoo room and it was clean and the bed/pillows were comfortable. Ann was extremely welcoming, answered all of my questions, and...

I found the perfect place to stay over Christmas ,while visiting my son and daughter-in-law. The house ( walking distance from Mission Hills) felt cozy - Anne and Amanda were delightful ! While I was gone all day I always looked forward to coming "home" in the evening to "my" Gaslamp room and a very comfortable bed and pillows. Thanks...

We stayed at the Hillcrest House on a Saturday night in December. We stayed in the Balboa room. Very comfortable room on a very cool property. Clean, quaint, and convenient. Breakfast in the morning was great and Ann was a wonderful hostess. It will be our first choice for our trips to San Diego from now on.

GREAT location-- The Hillcrest House was in walking distance to great restaurants and shops. It was just a short drive to Balboa Park, the Embarcadero and Old Town. GREAT Accommodations—The room we stayed in was nicely decorated and a good size. The common rooms were pleasant. GREAT Staff—The Innkeeper, Ann, was wonderful. She is very friendly, knowledgeable of San Diego...

San Diego is not my favourite city in California - my heart lies somewhere north! SD is a military town with large naval and marine bases. However, it is pretty enough and also where about 20,000 of us haematologists meet every three years or so to discuss the latest developments. Usually, I stay downtown in one of the mega hotels...
