clean, adequate breakfast, great kitchen, well planned activity and sight seeing options for guests, good location. Bathrooms well cared for. Safe, good wifi. I WAS GONE ALL DAY to the Convention Center AND JUST NEEDED A PLACE TO DO EMAIL IN THE EVEnings and lay my head down to sleep, and this fit the bill at a good price

Can't have a better time for less money. 5 minutes walk from beach, on the main entertainment strip. After hours party on can patio. Rooms are nice and big, everyone gets a personal light and phone charger. The beach party is awesome!

I only stayed for 1 night, but everything was great and the staff friendly and helpful! Cooper helped me schlep my bags up the stairs (the only negative for stair phobic people like me!) There's a great pizza place two doors done and it's right on the main street for restaurants and shops!

This was a great place to stay in San Diego. Beds were comfy and equipped with an outlet, reading light and small shelf. Location is great, though it can get a bit noisy at night. The front desk gave me ear plugs, but I was so exhausted I fell asleep without them! Maybe during the peak season they might be...

My hotel reservation fell through last minute and I needed a place to stay. The Downtown San Diego Hostel was one of the nicest I've ever stayed at, and I've stayed in plenty across Australia, Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa. Safe, clean, quiet, and in a perfect downtown location.

Some of the most unfriendly service I've ever had. Condescending, and standoffish. I will never attend a USA Hostel again after this trip. I would seriously rethink my staffing choices if I were them. Good way to lose business.

Although USA Hostels strives to ensure that every guest that walks through our door has an amazing and memorable stay it is always disappointing to hear when one does not. The location was great, right in the middle of downtown. The entrance might a little difficult to find. Staff were very friendly and the room and bath rooms are room. There are events going on almost everyday to anyone can participate and meet new people.

I attended a conference in San Diego and decided I wanted to stay close to the conference center. The surrounding hotels were out of my budget, so I looked into hostels. USA Hostel San Diego was conveniently located a few blocks away from the convention center. I selected to stay in a private room. The room was big and open,...

I was in San Diego dropping off a client. During the end of the day I was going to stay with a friend near down town. After getting comfortable in my friends apartment noticed spiders. I Jamed out and was looking for a cheap stay with no bug issues. I came across USA Hostels, read the reviews and was pleased...

Came for the WBC games at Petco Park. Super easy access from the airport/Amtrak, just a few blocks away from major bus/light rail lines which will take you all over the city. Went to Balboa/zoo on my off day via metro. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms, this was a fantastic stay. Got to chat with other travellers as well, nice lounge...

“Room 17 is a 6 woman dorm. Would a folding chair or a small step stool be added so short people like me can reach the top bunk more easily? I borrowed a stool from a shower to reach more of my upper bunk. (I understand that space is limited in room 17 but this little extra would really make a difference.)”
