Two windows that were walled off. AC didn't work. Smallest room I've ever seen. Elevator access is terrible due to their age. Just not a business hotel.

I had the opportunity to stay there for a conference (Feb 2015) and it was a great place to stay. There was a great old elevator there from 1913 and was a great experience to try out. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Stayed on the 8th Floor just off the elevator. The room and bathroom were spacious as well...

The things that some people have complained about are the things that we think add charm and character to this hotel! This isn't a replica hotel, down to the 1913 elevator it is authentic! the Ramada Gaslamp is located in the heart of a vibrant part of old San Diego. Everywhere you look are bars, clubs and restaurants! The nightlife...

What a delight to stay in this almost museum like hotel. The front desk staff were efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. The rooms are a little small, but adequate. Why would you need anything bigger, when there is so much to do right outside the door. The elevators are a bit of a challenge at first but fun to ride. The...

We have stayed at the St James, on all our trips to San Diego..we love everything about it...location, staff and right down to the lobbies 40's on 4 ! It's an old hotel..Rooms are small however always comfortable and clean. The Gaslamp area is noisy...but very fun!

From the check in agents, to the old style elevator, the small but clean rooms, roof top access to enjoy the view.. I really enjoyed our stay. The resturaunt downstairs was very convenient with great food and drinks. Other reviews mentioned noise levels, and when we got into our room we found a pair of earplugs provided, which made me...
