My friend and I stayed here for a couple of nights when we came here to visit San Diego. All in all, this was a practical place to stay, with lots of good amenities. On the plus side: * Nice common areas - Clean, large, well-equipped kitchen, plus dining room, TV room, laundry room, outdoor patio that has ping pong,...

We appreciate you taking the time to review our hostel. We hope that you end up back here in the future! We are sorry to hear that your dormitory room was not as comfortable as it could've been. We do have AC throughout the hostel that our staff will happily adjust per guest requests. :)

I originally booked for 4 mights. Cancelled after 1, I booked a private room. The room is tiny, pretty much just room for the bed, they lock in the air conditioning, there is no alcohol allowed on premises. Pretty much just old people and hippies stay there. The walls are paper thin, so talking and slamming doors woke me up...

We are constantly upgrading our hostels and amenities with the funds we make; in addition we have several programs in which we give back to...

The whole experience was average. The place was nice, organized and well set up. I like their green concept of saving energy... so you won't find napkins at meal time or paper towels inside bathroom (yes tiolet paper) but hand towels. Couple room is a box. Everyone shares the bathroom so there are no "private bathrooms". They have a "no...

Oddly, my experience here was bitter sweet. First, my flight got in late, and it too late to cancel. Secondly, that first nite was very noisy; the tapping on the wall, wasn't what I was seeking, and oddly, this is the only hostel you cant have alcohol beverages. So, I changed my bed, but that was next to the bathroom...

The hostel at Point Loma is a well equipped budget option in San Diego. Friendly staff, well equipped kitchen, pancake and yogurt breakfast and a dinner option that changes nightly. Bus connection to downtown that unfortunately only runs until about 6 PM. Dorms and private rooms.

My wife has a life time membership with Hostelling International & this was my very first time at a Hostel. I can see why the Point Loma Hostel is rated so highly. Very comfortable beds, very friendly people & the staff were fantastic. They even have a hammock & a ping pong table in their Court Yard area. See pic's....

I have stayed at Point Loma's Hosteling International several times over the past 5 years and have never been disappointed. The staff are friendly, the facilities are updated as needed, the beds are comfortable (the sheets are so soft!), the rooms and bathrooms are clean, the courtyard with its hammock, fire pit and ping pong table are inviting and the...

This hostel is a bit better than the one downtown. I have yet to understand why I was charged more than what the price was on the hostel sites. Telling me that the prices change every minute is bologny. Breakfast was free pancakes previously made (and burned), so they weren't warm/hot, but you can use the microwave. One of the...

Our stay at HI point loma was expected to be pleasant as we have grown accustomed to the HI standard, even still we were overjoyed by the services during our stay here. From the breakfast selection of fresh pancakes, granola, mango and almond milk to enjoying BBQs we felt that the kitchen was well equipped and organised. It was a...
