Detailed Reviews
Very Clean, reception desk staff super nice, friendly. Rooms were immaculate and spacious. Bathroom is very small but towels were soft, clean and space was adequate for our needs.
My cousin and I shared a 2 Queen Bed room - there was a sitting area with comfortable sofa, a writing desk, a little bar sink with fridge and microwave and a dresser to place a suitcase on. Small closet area near the toiletry sink area just outside the bathroom area. The water was marvelously hot. The TV was huge (imo). The beds very comfortable and the rooms were quiet as well.
The website has room photos, I found all to be an accurate portrayal of what my cousin and I experienced with our stay.
Breakfast was decent enough - scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit medley, yogurt, toast, cereal. My cousin said there was sausage gravy too, but there were no biscuits. We did arrive at 8:15, however, breakfast was supposed to run until 9 a.m. The person on staff overseeing food supply was very surly and obviously in a bad mood. She began clearing the food items from the breakfast area at 8:30 and by 8:45 most items were gone - she left only the sausage and scrambled eggs. A couple of guests that mentioned to her that their understanding was that breakfast was until 9 a.m. got a very rude response from her. I reported this to the front desk as over all this was a very, very nice hotel, recently renovated and quite enjoyable to stay at. When you are trying that hard to compete in today's market - someone else should likely be manning the breakfast shift - even a smile and a thank you to this woman they had on staff didn't help. Small inconvenience - still a 5-star deserved IMO.
If ever in the Topeka area again for an overnight, I will definitely be staying at this hotel again.

2-3 star hotel which was expected. Room, location and included breakfast was good but only 1 employee who never said hello to anyone, appeared so uninterested in his job.
Asked for a luggage rack and he didn’t know what it was, showed pictures on phone and never heard of one and hotel didn’t have any. Had to put suit cases on chair and floor.
He was probably a nice guy in wrong position or needs to be trained on how to greet and service customers who see him as the face of Hyatt. Front desk service at
hotels make big impressions.

Very nice employees. Room was large with separate sitting area. Beds were comfortable and premises clean. Only thing that wasn’t my fave was small bathroom with sink outside room. Breakfast was very good. Someone voiced concern that parking lot was dark and unsafe. It was extremely well lit and I felt as safe there as anywhere else. Shower had dispensers filled with body wash, shampoo and conditioner. I’d stay here again.

We stayed at Hyatt Place Topeka on June 26th and then again on June 30th, as we returned from a special occasion in St. Louis. Our first stay on June 26th was delightful in nearly every way. The staff was attentive regardless of the hour, the room was immaculate, and the property was clean.
However, our return stay on June 30th was less satisfactory. The staff appeared more focused on chatting with each other than on checking us in. As a quadriplegic, I found the ADA room we were assigned to be only partially remodeled. The thermostat was set at 60 degrees and took all night to warm up to a comfortable temperature. There were visible issues in the room, such as brown residue on the walls under the nightstand and in the bathroom. Additionally, the ceiling had partially installed sprinklers, and the bed linens were extremely wrinkled, giving the impression of being improperly handled and not entirely clean.
When I provided feedback to the gentleman on duty at checkout, he was polite but seemed uninterested in my concerns. I did not request any compensation, despite the cleanliness issues, but felt that my feedback was not well-received.
While I understand that remodeling can cause disruptions, it is unreasonable to charge the same rate for vastly different experiences in terms of room cleanliness and service quality. If this had been my first experience with Hyatt, I would have been hesitant to return based on the stay on June 30th, as it did not meet the typical standards expected from a Hyatt Place.

The updated rooms were a surprise walking into the room. Although, after looking deeper the floors made our feet dirty, had to wash them before bed and wear shoes while walking around in our room. The free breakfast was mediocre, it had variety but even my kids didn't finish their food and were unimpressed. Staff was nice. They do have really soft pillows and blackout curtains which was really nice. So I guess for the price, it misses the mark for being reasonable.

We stayed here for one night during our annual road trip. This was a very nice, clean hotel with a decent sized outdoor pool. I always appreciate a place that has a laundry room on the premises; it makes our trips so much easier. Pretty good breakfast and friendly service at the front desk. I liked the spacious rooms.

Checked in, put our bags in our rooms and left to go to a swim meet. Came back to find the hotel had checked another guest into one of our rooms. Glad we were not changing clothes or coming out of the shower with the new guest entered Our room. They removed our bags and put them in a storage room. Staff had no answer for how this could’ve happened. When asked to speak to management were told no one was available and that both managers were sick. Next morning for breakfast choices were eggs, bacon, or cereal. The only silverware they had were knives. Zero forks, zero spoons, so cereal was not an option after all. Had to eat breakfast with my fingers. The drink options were no better. Coffee or milk. No juice, no water, unless you wanted to pay $3.25 for a water bottle at the desk. Our second and last day breakfast was better. They had sausage, eggs, potatoes, tortillas, bagels, and cereal. They managed to find a big box of plastic spoons, but still no forks and still no drinks

I'm a retired teacher, and when our teacher groups came to Topeka for education workshops, we always stayed here. It's still a great place to stay. Very spacious rooms, plenty of towels, pristine clean. It was my understanding that they recently remodeled, and our room was beautiful. The price was $110 even with taxes which was better priced than many hotels we stay in, and it was very clean and beautiful place to stay. The breakfast was what you would expect, but without waffles, yogurt. But we don't need all that. The only negative was the coffee was pretty awful, but the hotel was wonderful. Highly recommend.

I arrived late, just before shift change. I appreciated the clerk/manager's attitude displayed to a weary traveler. Property was at the completion of details of a major inside property renovation. Management staff "J" was above average as a property host. The customer lounge mid and top shelf selections were in need of upgrades (your clients can afford the additional $ for premium end of day treat).

Breakfast was ok
Not far, but it is a little awkward. You have to loop around the traffic circle.
About 2 blocks. Very convenient.
The pool is outdoors, and is rather small. I'm not sure if it has a spa included (my dogs didn't use the pool, although they wanted to.) It closes at 10 PM. There is a fitness center in the hotel, again, rather small. This is not a built-from-scratch Hyatt Place. It is an older former Ameriplace (or some such) franchise that was bought out by Hyatt. Still and all, it is a good place to stay while traversing the blandness of Kansas and the wilderness of Missouri.
Definitely YES. They charge (I believe) $25 for up to 5 nights.
