Colorful. Vibrant. Innovative. These are adjectives that would be used to describe another hotel. I was overwhelmingly underwhelmed by The Senate. Had no issues with the personnel, but the building and amenities were about as in need of a facelift as the neighborhood in which it was situated. Construction blocking the entry into the parking lot didn't help either. The...

I enjoyed my stay, lots of character. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was great. Only complaint I had was that I asked for a handicapped room and didn't get one. Had lots of problems in the restroom. Overall, the experience was neat.

Bed was very comfortable, and the staff accommodating. Nice hot springs spa which we enjoyed. Our room was a suite with a kitchen with a separate table and the Beautiful deck overlooking the Capitol building. We will certainly stay there again. Only negative was the hallways were a bit dingy

Only thing that keeps it from 5 stars is they have plastic liners on mattress. Otherwise its the best choice for a city center stay. The back stairs have a historical feel, some call super-natural. Good breakfast layout with a relaxed card room.

Passing through and needed an overnight stay. Balcony suite, good price. Parking was fairly convenient. Steps to front door or enter through basement and take elevator. A very good night's sleep and a wonderful breakfast.

It was a room with a bed, bathroom, and tv. It also had a small sitting area, dorm fridge, microwave, coffee pot and walk out balcony. The floor creaked some. This is to be expected given the age of the building. Whether or not it could be heard in the room below I have no idea. I would recommend it...

The location was great, very close to the Capitol and other highlights. The property was clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Although there was not a large variety, the breakfast was very good, especially compared to other hotels. The room was quiet and very pleasant.

Quaint hotel, 1920's era well maintained. Awesome staff. Cool architectural details throughout. Located two blocks from statehouse. Our room had a balcony, great view, comfortable bed. We will definitely visit again. Hoping to catch a ghost next time!

I recently stayed here while attending a presentation at the Capitol Building. This is an older property that is conveniently located if you're doing business downtown. One thing that surprised me was the lack of dining options in downtown Topeka. Of the few options there, the best stopped serving food at 8:00, which unfortunately 5 minutes before I walked in...
