Basic, no frills stay. Location is right off I-70. Staff is very pleasant. Room was fine. Smelled a little damp. In room coffee was surprisingly good. For the money, it’s a good value. Many restaurants and shopping options within 5 minutes of the property.

I liked this place. enjoyed the full sized kitchen. Bed was comfortable and the place was spotless. You can borrow appliances. I found it a bit tricky to find, thank goodness for gps. Was on the 3rd floor and the elevator was slow. It was handy to I 70. Had a 3:00 check in, better than some that had 4:00 check ins.

We like Candlewood Suites for the kitchenette,and this location didn't disappoint. They had a number of items to borrow as well, such as an Instapot, griddle, slowcooker,and a toaster oven. Our only issue with our room was a strange musty smell, almost like someone had smoked.

This place is terrible, I had reserved a room with 2 beds, when we got there and they gave us the room key, we went upstairs and open the door to the room, it has people sleeping in, they said some bad word, we got scared and closed the door, when to the main lobby and told him, the employee, didn't what to do, he said to wait and see if he can find another room, he literally when around to see if he can find and room for us // this was almost 1am// finally , he said he found a room but when we went inside, it was only one bed, at this time we were tired and ready to rest, so i went downstairs for some blankets and towel because they don't put them in the room, at this point my daughter has to sleep in the floor, but when i went downstairs the guy employee told me he had find another room, and i waited 15 minutes to get the key, so i went to the upstairs to tell my daughter and my sister that we have a room, we grab everything and went to the next level to the room, when we opened the door the room it was the clean the bed was not made and it was dirty plates everywhere, so we went downstairs and told the guy and he said he did not what to do because in the system it said that it was espy so I told him that we will go back to the room with just one bed.
The next morning, we was expecting to be able to talk to a manager and told him what just happened... but he did not want to talk to us, first the lady front desk now cuz the guy have left told us that he was upstairs , but when she call him he just said to take a note, she could not print a receipt and they was over charging us , she said that it will show and the bank statement the refund, and days went by and many emails many call and finally they took it off, but my surprise after almost 2 months later they put the charge back to my account and thy place 2 payment, I call the general manager finally he decide to answer my voicemail but he was so rood and he didnt want to hear me or send me to right direction to whom can help me solve this issue, he was rude about it and he hand up the phone on me, he is not even close to customer service!! I will never stay at this company or any hotels From IHG.

The worst hotel or motel I’ve stayed in over the course of my entire life. A dump. I don’t think corporate has ever approved maintenance or cleaning, although I saw a vacuum cleaner in the hallway, but it’s apparently broken, because every floor is disgusting. Although there’s no way staff have any time or support in such a terrible place, or maybe they just don’t hire anyone? Clearly this is management and corporate. I’d never blame staff so obviously set up to fail. There was a housekeeper alone around the front desk instead of a night auditor or anyone who might be in a position to actually help. The toilet seat was tightened in a way that whacked me in the back when I tried to sit. The bathroom fan didn’t do anything. The faucet was physically separating from the tub unit. The parking lot has also never been maintained or cleaned. Much of the pavement is cracked. There’s trash everywhere. Everything about this place is awful.

The hotel is close to the Wanamaker which is the only happ place of Topeka..I have no complaints on the location, quality of room, front desk or employees of CWS, but only concern is they don’t offer free breakfast. People like me who totally have to depend on ....is now thinking late after 2-3 Days gone.. Also the price is on higher side.. that’s also Ok.. good thing is they have a kitchenette..wow.. I know to cook.. but due to worst weather I couldn’t bring it in advantage.. couldn’t go out so no ingredients to cook.. one more thing .. not sure what’s the cycle they clean the rooms need to check with the FD .. haven’t seen someone coming .. anyways overall if you are planning for family you have a lot of places outside don’t depend on the hotel for early breakfast.. it’s gonna be late BF only..

Stayed on points and check in was easy and staff was friendly. The unit was clean, location was towards the back. Road noise was not an issue, you can hear it, but it was not too noisy. The bed was comfortable but did have a dip in the middle of the mattress. Did not use any other amenities as this stay was only there to sleep. Candlewood is always a good choice.

There is no pool. Usually they have a pool. Besides that, it was a nice, new Candlewood Suites with all the amenities - fitness center, laundry, barbeque grills and lend it library. My suite was newly renovated with brand new furniture. The bathroom was new and clean. They only clean the room every four days which might be inconvenient for families. The hotel is outside downtown Topeka but very convenient to 70 and 75. The surrounding area is comfortable for hiking and jogging. Restaurants and stores, including a Barnes and Noble, are a short ride away. I would stay here again.

Rating based primarily on comparisons & experiences at several other Candlewoods we’ve stayed at. All the other ones we’ve rated very good to excellent. Not this one. Maybe we just had higher expectations.
First detractor is the fact this one looks very dated & worn out, though the room itself wasn’t too bad.
The only chair in the room was a desk chair—not good. No plastic bag provided for laundry.
Room was clean, bed comfortable & plenty of towels which were all good & to be expected at a Candlewood.
