We have been booking two rooms over the 4th of July holiday at this Hampton Inn for several years. This year, our son left a bag (carry-on size piece) in their room. They called us the day we checked out to notify that it had been found and asking how we wanted it handled. It was Saturday afternoon so nothing was going to move that day. I told the person to wait until Monday and I would email a FedEx label. Our son got on the phone and refilled a prescription that he needed Saturday night. The rest of his most-needed items were with him. This morning, I called to get an email address for the label. I asked about boxing the luggage and she said they didn't have a box. I told her FedEx would tag it or package it if it was delivered to them. She said they intended to take it to FedEx. She called again around 10 to let me know the luggage had been delivered to FedEx and all was good. From housekeeping, the person at the front desk, the person that drove it to FedEx, a huge THANK YOU to your team of people with above and beyond, great customer service.

The hotel is well maintained, clean, and nicely decorated. The rooms are spacious and have many electrical outlets for computers, tablets, cell phones, and other devices. The bedding is comfortable.
The bathroom is fairly large and the shower is a good size; the shower head functions as designed.
A complimentary breakfast buffet is provided. Some of the breakfast items are eggs, sausages, waffles, bagels, English muffins, juices. The dinning area is very large and can accommodate a large number of people. The buffet is well stocked. The items are constantly being replenished.
The staff is very pleasant and helpful.
The Topeka Hampton Inn is just off I-470, at exit 1B. The hotel is a short ride to downtown Topeka. The hotel is located in an area that has several restaurants, stores, gas stations and shopping centers. There is a Walmart Super Center and Sam’s Club near the hotel.

One night stay, arrived late. There was plenty of parking, lot was well-lit and clean, felt safe unloading the car. Check in/out was smooth, efficient, and very friendly.
Room was reasonably sized and in good, very clean condition. Everything we used worked.
Included breakfast was a pretty standard hot items, the waffle maker was a nice addition.
With a reasonable price, this was an excellent value for this class of hotel and overall experience. Would certainly stay again.

I had high hopes that this stay would be as satisfying as our last visit. The hallways are well lit, rooms had the "clean" seal that helps to ensure they are sanitized. The bed was very comfortable.
The toilet was stopped up and didn't get fixed until the next morning, shortly before we left. What a disgusting mess.
They had a hot breakfast if you wanted to wait around for eggs to be brought out. With very little help, it seemed, the one person trying to get things in order was inadequate. When we asked for eggs and were told "5 minutes", it was more like 15.
You can not get a printed receipt of your room cost if you booked through a third party, such as Expedia. This is the only hotel that I've stayed at that is like this.
Overall, there are much better choices in the area.

Response from Guest Service Manager, Guest Services / Front Office at Hampton Inn Topeka
Responded 17 May 2021
Brady R. Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We would like to apologize for your toilet issue, we understand what an inconvenience this might have been, which is why we made this a priority and fixed it as soon as you notified the front desk that morning. It is unfortunate that you had to wait for the eggs to be ready during your breakfast visit, though our breakfast attendant does an excellent job at keeping up with the crowd, we hope our guest understand that certain situations happen and in your case there was a short wait that most of our guest did not experience. Lastly we do understand the importance of keeping records with receipts which is why we encourage our guests to book directly with us, third party reservations such as yours are paid using the third party credit card which belongs to the online website you chose to book with, therefore a receipt for your stay could not be provided as your personal credit card was not used. Third party booking sites provide a receipt upon booking to our guest for their records. Again thank you for taking the time to review us. We appreciate your stay with us.

Photo from room 404 with lighted sign and road noise. If you want a quiet room away from the flashing billboard and highway noise, ask to be in the higher numbered rooms with an odd room number. Also the hotel is a bit tricky to find, but neither of these challenges are within control of Hampton :)
Stephen at front desk was helpful, albeit a bit shy. He happily assisted me with a special trash disposal need, and we appreciated his concern about safety in issuing multiple key cards. Room was clean and breakfast was a full compliment of hot/cold.

The pool and hot tub were closed. The fan would not stay on continuously in the room, so I had to set the thermostat to 62 to get it to run as often as I could. Otherwise, it was very nice. Of course the bed was hard, and the pillows were thin, but that seems to be the norm everywhere. I only stayed 1 night, and I enjoyed the breakfast the next morning, there were waffles, eggs, sausage, muffins, fruit, and more. I would stay again if I need to be in that area. The clerk, Retta, was very helpful, and nice to talk to. Everything was clean, and there was plenty of room. A small refrigerator, and coffee with a small coffeemaker were in the room as well.

Enjoyed a good night's rest at the Hampton Inn in Topeka. We were checked in by a very nice, professional person and quickly settled in to our lovely room. The rooms was very clean and beds were comfortable. All rooms are sealed after being cleaned and sanitized. We really appreciated this in this time of COVID. There is a nice buffet breakfast with persons required to use hand sanitizer before entering the dining room - also appreciated! We would recommend this motel to others.

This is a good Hampton Inn, though it is tricky to get to. Check-in was smooth, and our King Room was fine. They have a large indoor pool and hot tub with big windows so it feels quite open and airy. If highway noise is an issue, request a room away from the highway. The pre-check-in map on the Hilton Honors app where I was able to choose our room did not indicate which rooms faced the highway. That would have been helpful. The highway noise is noticeable but pretty much white noise. A guide to how the TV remote works and a channel guide would have been helpful. The biggest disappointment was the lack of choice at breakfast. It was not up to Hampton's standards. Otherwise, a good stay.

We’ve stayed at this hotel several times on our way to Denver and it’s always been a good stop! We find it comfortable and clean, a friendly staff and it’s close to the highway. This trip because of terrible weather caused us to weigh continuing on or staying an extra night there. Because the hotel was comfortable and staff person Retta so accommodating we decided to stay an extra day and were very happy we didn’t risk leaving! Retta was cheerful and easy to work with! We certainly recommend this Hampton if you need a place in Topeka to stay!

No, the pool and workout area are closed due to Covid. We have found this to be true all across the country.
We are located 5 minutes south of I-70.
