Hotel was lovely but housecleaning woke us up at 8:30 am on Saturday. Would have loved to sleep in! Also had to wait 20 minutes to get the room following check in at 7 pm. Not the most professional. Room was great. Amazing view of Boston Common. Also free upgrade though not necessary.

We enjoyed our time at the Taj. Very helpful and friendly staff!! The gentlemen who helped us with our bags were more than happy to give us directions and assist us with anything we needed. Our room was spacious with two queen beds. We parked and walked everywhere. We would definitely stay again.

Spent two nights at the Taj, nine of us, aged 75 to 14, as part of a family holiday. Appreciated the central location - easy to find our way around, and great for places to eat and shop, and the park was a useful landmark as well as peaceful place to walk through. The check-in staff were particularly helpful as...

This review focuses solely on the quality of the rooms as I customer service and location to be more than adequate. Prior to arriving to the Taj, I had read the rooms were outdated given the price. I initially disregarded those reviews, but now that I've stayed there, I have some more color to offer to those reviews. When you...

The Taj is conveniently located within walking distance to great shopping and restaurants. My room was beautiful - and spacious for a city hotel. Easy check in, attentive staff and consierge as well. Pricey but worth it.

Withe one of the best locations in Boston overlooking the Commons, the TAJ has a lot of charm to boot, with an old-fashioned bar on the ground floor serving Indian small bites to accompany a very nice bar offering. While rooms are spacious, bathrooms are a bit on the small side though perfectly serviceable by anybody's standard. Worth the money.

The Taj Boston is an average Boston hotel with a high price per night. The bathroom is tiny, Lighting in the bathroom is atrocious. So poor that we stood by a window overlooking the gardens and tried using a mirror which was in an awkward place over a desk and partially blocked by a table lamp on the desk below....

Got booked here through a flight/hotel package and could not have been happier. Not familiar with Boston, but located near where we needed to be and it was not only fantastic for location (right on the common and in the middle of it all), but truly a 4 star property. More importantly, everyone who works there was 5 stars. Although...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
