I love the location. Right on Boylston and Newbury streets. Across the Boston common. Short walk to China town, downtown. The rooms are not perfect but clean and everything works. Very nice bar and ok restaurant.

The Taj hotel is a wonderful place to stay, it is beautiful and very comfortable. It is very well located and is right in front of the public gardens, which makes the view of the room amazing. I recommend it very much for your next visit to Boston.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the standard of the Taj Boston. Like most hotels in Boston it was more expensive than I would normally pay but the room was enormous, the bed sumptuous and the service first rate.

Only staying in Boston one night to attend Mass Eye & Ear fundraiser. Husband booked. Read reviews and wasn't expecting much. Upgraded upon arrival. Large beautiful room facing elegant Commonwealth Ave & Boston Garden. Bed VERY comfy with great pillows. Room gracious and welcoming- sofa upholstery a bit tired. We enjoyed our stay at the Taj.. very friendly staff that met our every need. It is well coated in the heart of Boston across from the Commons... We had breakfast there and it was excellent. The concierge helped us find good restaurants and places to see. Overall we would highly recommend that others might consider the Taj as their...

A typical upmarket City hotel. Very attentive staff and excellent rooms and facilities in a central location. However, no coffee making facilities and no coffee or lounge to use. Just bars and coffee to buy. Guests should get this after all you got free fruit when using the gym. How much does coffee cost? Also my room had a noisy...

Absolutely fantastic location and staff were lovely. However there was no tea/coffee facilities in the room which I would consider a fairly basic amenity. Also the drain in the tub/shower kept blocking. We stayed for two nights and reported it on the first morning, however there was no improvement on the second morning. I have stayed in Taj hotels before...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
