Excellent location on the Garden and corner of Newbury Street, walkable to Prudential Center, Copley, Quincy Market, Beacon Hill. The service sets the Taj apart. The bellman always makes it a point to make the stay special, leaving candy or this time bringing the kids duck food so they could feed the ducks in the park, teddy bears, fruit, flowers,...

Concierge I'd give 5 stars! Attentive and personable. Stayed 3 nights in a park view room which I highly recommend. It's lovely just to sit by the window watching the activity in Boston Common. Check in and check out, a smooth process. The downfall of this hotel that prevented me from giving the full five stars was the lack of...

Have stayed here since it was the Ritz Carlton back in the day. Great location where back bay meets the public garden. Remains a classic hotel. Service great. Cannot comment on food or beverage service.

Exquisite views of the public gardens, extremely welcoming and warm staff, and an overall wonderful experience. Highly recommended. You can walk to so many places in downtown Boston so while the food is a little pricey at the hotel, there are many affordable options close by.

Taj Hotel has the best location in town, just crossing the street and you are at the park or walking to the right you can be at the Newbury St that is so beautiful and full of shops and restaurants. The service at the hotel was really good and all of the staff so friendly. Rooms are good size and...

We had a lovely two night visit to the Taj. Ate Thanksgiving in the ballroom. Enjoyed the fitness room. Our room was comfortable and attractive. It was extremely quiet (didn't hear noise from the hallway or the other rooms -- that's old-time building specs for you!). The only hiccup was the service in the bar -- I suspect they used...

Start with the positive - the staff was unfailingly helpful, polite, resourceful and very pleasant. They are one of the bright spots of this property! Also, great location and decor. Also, the bed was extremely comfortable. However, there were several problems. Our luggage took 1.5 hours to be delivered to our room. Desk kept telling us how busy the hotel...

We stayed at this hotel for a night and this was by far the worst stay in a Taj property that we have ever had. I redeemed ~5000 of my membership points - this would have gotten me about 5 nights at a reasonably good Taj property in India. However, I decided to make this booking since this was a...

Stayed in 2 adjoining room with my wife and 2 teenage children. We were very comfortable, and enjoyed being near the Public Garden for lighting of the tree. Hotel was bustling with holiday parties and a general festive air.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
