Location is ideal for what we need to do in Boston. So convenient to leave the car. The staff is great and helpful. The hotel has great old charm. Wi Fi worked very well and the meals are great in both Parkers and Parkers bar.

This hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable but the bathroom was extremely small. The shower was also extremely slippery when showering. Perhaps the size of the bathrooms is due to the historic nature of the hotel but either way, it left quite a bit to be desired. The location however was amazing, very central to everything. If you're...

Loved Boston and what a treat to stay in the oldest hotel around and right in the middle of all the action! They say it's haunted, but we didn't run into anything creepy. Beds are comfy and just a short walk to many sites such as the Quincy Market (Faneuil Hall), the State House and Boston Common. The concierge helped...

If you stay at the hotel do so for the history. The rooms are extremely small. It is a beautiful hotel and is rich in history. However, get you money ready - it is very expensive. The breakfasts are average but for 3 $87.00. The hotel is centrally located to waterfront and restaurants.

Beautiful historic hotel where the efficiency and convenience of being part of a chain has not diluted the old school charm. Extremely friendly staff from housekeeping through the concierge staff. My room was tiny for the price even by major city hotel standards but it was clean and everything was in working order. Plenty of towels provided and appreciated the...

I travel several times a year to Boston on business. I originally stayed at the Parker House because I liked the Select Guest program, which offers internet free of charge upon joining. I have now stayed there many times and I love the hotel. Select Guest amenities are excellent, the location is great, and the loyalty ambassador - Kate Casey...

The Omni is a good hotel in a good location. With rates comparable to other hotels in the area, it's a good option, especially if you are headed to the Common or other historic areas. There is also plenty to do in the area, with good restaurants on location and nearby; Chinatown and the theater district aren't a long walk...

I am partial to Omni hotels in the first place and this one is no exception. The location is great...easy walking distance to the Boston Common and all sorts of historical sites and, since I am a runner, I have a favorite route from here (Cambridge St. to Longfellow Bridge then out and back along the Charles River...running by Harvard,...

Right in the heart of old downtown. Perfect for waking sightseeing. Big old wood paneled lobby. Boston Cream Pie. Ridiculously overpriced + charge for wifi and for parking. Restaurant is very nice. Breakfast is $25 and nowhere near worth it. Our room was tiny ("Deluxe") and the shower was not very good. This is a hotel built and priced for...

Receptionist was brusque and rude during check-in, and seemed very disinterested. Lobby has great character, and the location couldn't be better. Rooms a little twee, but very much comfortable, with large beds. Bathrooms felt very dated, with old fixtures and a sink plug that was malfunctioning. Property needs to up its game in some respects.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
