Pros: - Location: right by Boston Common, on the Freedom Trail, near the financial district, walking distance to variety of restaurants. - History: longest continuously operating hotel in America, JFK supposedly proposed to Jackie at table 40 in the Parker House restaurant (he seems to have proposed in a pub in DC too), home of the original Boston Cream Pie,...

This is a hotel which is full of character and old age charm. It is an ideal location for sightseeing, eating and shopping. The staff at reception are wonderful and extremely helpful. The beds and bedding are the best EVER. This is my second trip and I will be organising my next stay at this hotel soon.

I always stay at the Omni Parker House when visitng Boston. It is a favorite. The hotel staff is wonderful, always going out of their way to acommodate the guests. The bar is great and the restaurant, with it's famous dishes, is always a pleasure.

WOW !! We hosted a wedding at the Omni Parker House in Boston this past weekend and it was an incredible experience. This hotel contains so much history and was the perfect venue for a downtown Boston wedding. The food and ambiance was great. The service providers starting with the valet parking, check-in and bell captain and our catering manager,...

The Omni Parker House is located in the heart of the city. The rooms are very small but they have a lot of character. The Staff at the hotel were just amazing. You can really tell from the moment you arrive they love the hotel and all it stands for. The location is within walking distance to everything Boston has...

This is an older hotel, but it is very well maintained. My room was very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. The bathroom was on the smaller side (not much room between door and toilet, not very much counter space), but it was clean and perfectly sufficient. The fitness center is large with lots of machine options. I will definitely...

The convenience of the location was great, very near the tube station to access anywhere & short walk to Boston Common. Unfortunately the room was very small (& we upgraded), decor was dated, heating / air con system was old & made the room dry. Facilities & staff were good and made us feel welcome. Would recommend for short visit.

Can't think of much I could say about Parker House that hasn't already been said but it was our first stay and it was an absolute delite. Perfectly located to most everything. The staff from the moment you get there are wonderful. Dinning there was a dream. This old gem is a must for any traveler.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
