First for the positive: 1. Great location, close to downtown crossing and Boston commons. 2. Clean rooms, clean hallways, overall clean. 3. Bed is comfortable. 4. Staff is very nice and helpful. Problems: 1. No parking obviously- have to park at nearby garage at extra cost. 2. Out room had no drawer space at all. Looked like it had a set of drawers at some point that was removed. We had a sizable room with small closet and one night stand with drawers. 3. Views - our room was facing a brick wall 3 ft away 4. Attention to detail- alarm on our night stand went off at 5am, set by a previous occupant. They should’ve cut it of while cleaning. Next morning- the alarm next door went off at 6am and it was Sunday! It kept going and going until we called front desk to send someone up to cut it off. Obviously previous guest set it and moved out and no one checked. Of course we were not able to go back to sleep! 5. Overall furniture was not one of a luxury hotel.

Thanks for your detailed and useful feedback! Just one thing...we do offer valet parking, the most common option for guests staying in downtown Boston hotels. It's very convenient.

Hotel's Favourite
Beautiful hotel! The moment I stepped inside the lobby I felt as if I stepped back in time. The whole hotel including the rooms smelled and looked clean. The beds and pillows were the most comfortable I have ever felt, even more comfortable than my own at home! We went for my friend's birthday and hotel staff was nice enough to send to our room a small little birthday surprise with yummy sweet treats! We were also able to check in very early with no issues. Staff was friendly. I wish the bar and restaurant were open for dinner but that just means I will have to return! The hotel is in a great location within walking distance of all the main attractions and parking garages. The downstairs lobby by the gym has a mini museum which I found pretty cool. Only "bad thing" is that the Wifi isn't free so we didn't use it but the connection on our data plan was super fast inside the hotel! I also wished the rooms had a mini fridge. I read up on the history of the hotel before arriving and I wished I had a supernatural experience as I believe the hotel is haunted, but like I said I will just have to return to hopefully get my ghost experience lol. Over all, the hotel was fantastic and surprisingly more affordable compared to the other surrounding hotels considering this is a huge part of history.

We really enjoyed staying at this very historic hotel. It is in a very good location to the freedom trail and to many restaurants in the downtown boston area. Our room was very nice, had a good view, seemed to look like it was perhaps recently renovated, and it was very clean. We wished though that we had a refrigerator. Also, the bathroom sink was small and had no counter area. But overall we had liked our stay. Thought the charge for valet parking was a bit too high, especially since we just left our car parked for our entire stay. But overall had enjoyed this elegant looking hotel very much and would definitely stay here again!

We understand that overnight valet parking fees here in Boston may seem high but please know that ours is competitive with all other downtown hotels in our area, and certainly much lower than typical rates found in New York or Chicago. Glad to see that you'll be back!

Really nice hotel, friendly staff. comfortable bed. Rooms were small - tight with 2 large suitcases, but manageable. Things seemed to close up fairly early in the immediate area (bars, restaurants), but there were walkable options and location was ideal for visiting the historical sites.

If you’re used to paying $$$ for a hotel, you might find the rooms small and outdated, but I think it adds to the overall charm. The location is unbeatable and that alone makes it worth the price. Room service wasn’t being offered due to COVID (as of October 2021) but you’re able to grab a Boston cream pie to go from the Starbucks off of the lobby.
