Boston is very pricey for hotels overall - this is a very cozy hotel, beside/over Fitzs(has a great weekend brunch!). I would definitely return as it's centrally located. I was able to walk a couple of blocks to the subway, a couple of blocks to the park, a couple of blocks to a few malls. I stayed with a friend...

Lovely updated hotel in beautiful Boston Back Bay area. Minutes walk to Back Bay T station. Surrounded by dozens of fabulous restaurants. Rooms are small but nicely updated. Beds where very comfortable. Staff was helpful and friendly. Definitely would recommend this hotel to friends.

It's a reasonably priced boutique hotel in a quiet residential neighborhood. If you don't want to spend the bucks necessary for a chain hotel in pricy Boston, this is a nice alternative. It's within 2 easy blocks of the Back Bay T station on the orange line, so all of Boston is easily accessible. The 2 twin beds were comfortable,...

Disappointing hotel. Rooms are tiny, and bath room is even smaller. Only had enough floor space to open one suitcase, had to clear off a night table to open a second suitcase. Parking (self parking only) is a few city blocks away in a public garage. We were notified during our stay (and was well posted throughout the building and...

Stayed three nights for college graduation and will go back next time I'm in Boston for any reason. The rooms are 'cozy' much like a European boutique hotel. Very clean, modern amenities, and convenient to the Back Bay T station. Being in a neighborhood, rather than a commercial area, you have more of a 'homey' feeling. Above all, the staff...

The staff was extremely helpful and nice. Walking distance to multiple T stations. Walking distance to Newbury Street.

Think small but cozy. That's what I found at the Chandler Inn. Reasonably affordable for Boston and near the Back Bay T. The location is pleasant -- the hotel is surrounded by brownstones, and there are good restaurants within walking distance both directions on Berkeley Street (the major cross street). Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed and compact but clean...

Stayed 4 nights with family and friends during Harvard commencement week, when prices around town were sky high. We weren't looking for hotel amenities, just affordable rates, clean rooms, a convenient location. The Chandler Inn met our needs. Rooms and bathrooms are small, but functional; think modern European boutique with Ikea-type furniture. No closet for clothes; instead you get a...

Boston is expensive and, when I asked Reception if they had a bigger room as ours was small, that is basically what they said - small rooms, high prices. But four nights here was too much money and not enough space. I'd booked and paid ahead and would have moved after one night if I hadn't paid ahead. Not so...

Staying in South End

Neighbourhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
