Arrived in Boston during the infamous "Hell week" with temperatures -6 to -12 degrees centigrade. This magnificent place spared no expense in making us, the frozen and exhausted tourists, feel right at home. The spacious room on the 4th floor was well decorated and furnished. Amenities were decent, hot water worked fine (critical in the colder seasons). Breakfast was simple...

A very civilised and charming place to stay in central Boston. Easy access to everything and also the ability to park a car. On a business trip this was the perfect antidote to the formatted rooms of many other hotels. We will return.

We arrived at the College Club ahead of checkin time but our room was ready to go so we got given the keys. We were shown the eating area which had a coffee/hot chocolate machine and cookies at any time of the day. The room was on the top floor at the back of the building and was beautiful. It...

They never disappoint me! Very clean, quite and elegant vintage like environment. Complimentary breakfast in the morning: three kinds of cereals, fruits, toasts, cakes, different Kinds of coffee and teas, Staffs are very friendly and nice. They have clean and comfortable bathrobes available. Also the location was perfect. It's located in the middle of everything. I didnt have to use...

If you like to stay in moderns hotels with all the mod cons and TVS in the room, then read no further. This place is not for you. If you like to stay in historic hotels with quaint rooms, no TVs, and a sense of history in every corner, then this place is for you. I had known about The...

We stayed 2 nights in August 2012 and from the onset had amazing service from Donald. It was a busy weekend in Boston due to a conference and he helped us find another hotel for the 1st night and with car rental (to drive to Maine). We were on the top floor (5th floor?) and enjoyed our room, it was...

This was beyond expectations. The entire place is beautifully appointed and exquisitely old Boston Victorian-1940s style. The holiday decorations were astounding. Every floor! The stairways were worth walking up and down. It gives one a unique look into the past and how this building has stood up over time. We had the Simmons room. It is a large high ceiling...

This is not like a traditional B&B. What you do get: a big room (we had a queen size bed on the top floor) with private bathroom, a continental breakfast, a fabulous location (5 mins from the Public Gardens, 10 mins from Boston Common and in the heart of the Back Bay district) What you don't get: any interaction with...

We stayed for one night in the College Club and we loved the beautiful decorated, large and quiet room. Quiet is notable because we had a room in the front close by the Commonwealth Avenue. Location in the center of Boston was great; 1 minute walk and you are in Newbury street or in the Public Garden. The reception was...

We stayed for 2 nights this September. We caught the train from New York City to Boston and finding the B&B was easy. Check in was very straightforward and fast and when I saw the room it was exactly as I imagined. We stayed in the Simmons room and it was enormous, especially compared to the room we had spent...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
