I stayed at the Ames for one night in September. It is in a great location and the staff was very friendly from the valet to the front desk. The hotel was a little too dark for my liking and the room I was in was rather small, but it is a boutique hotel, so I guess that comes with...

I stayed here last week on a business trip and it is a very nice hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice and light, and are well equipped. I only have one small complaint.....the breakfast isn't great. Its a limited cold buffet - and I am not a fan of stale hard bagels. I would...

Great location - beautiful rooms. The best shower I have ever been in at a hotel. The staff was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel for corporate or vacation travelers. I am a travel agent and this is one of the best hotels I have stayed at! You can't beat the location - never took a cab. Lots of shopping...

My boyfriend and I recently stayed in the "superior king room" and it was amazing to say the least. We stayed in room 303 which has the big beautiful curved windows with an awesome view. The service was friendly and so accommodating. We went out to dinner and when we got back, there were rose petals leading from the entrance...

The location of the Ames Boston Hotel is extremely convenient for those that want to be close to the Boston Common. This hotel is in walking distance of the Boston Common, TD Garden, Quincy Market and more. The hotel itself has a modern feel and nice amenities. The room I stayed in had a well stocked mini bar and Alton...

Great location, most of places you'll like to visit at walking distance (and red metro station very close for the rest). Friendly and helpful stuff that helps in enjoying your visit to Boston. Nice modern rooms at a end-nineting century building, clean and confortable; some people may find them a bit small -we think it was enough-.

We stayed in the Ames for three nights in September arriving from New York. It was pretty expensive per night, but I think Boston overall is not a place to scrimp on your hotel - there seems to be really nice hotels in good locations and then the rest which are 'meh'. It was a brilliant hotel in a great...

Spent 3 nights at the hotel. The location is an excellent base to explore the city. The room was spacious and clean and a nice bathroom. Very comfy bed. Staff were pretty helpful. Although it seem all hotels in Boston are pricey, the location of the Ames puts you in the midst of the city.

I loved this hotel! They let us check in at 9 am after our red eye. They were close to everything we wanted to do. The room and lobby decor was gorgeous! It was like seeing my pinterest boards in real life. I took pictures of the room and saved them for inspiration. This is one of my favorite hotels.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
