We stayed at The Gilded Lily for two nights and had a great time. The Parlour Room was really comfortable and had all we needed. The kitchenette (shared by two rooms) was ideal not only for breakfast, but for an afternoon cuppa when returning from visiting the city. James was so helpful and very knowledgeable with great tips on what...

I loved staying at The Gilded Lily and am so pleased that I treated myself to one of the best B&Bs in Boston. The host, James provided me with a great little map and orientation upon arrival, lent me an umbrella on a rainy day and even went to the trouble of posting my phone charger to me after I...

We loved our stay at the Gilded Lily. Located in an historic brownstone, the rooms are serene, immaculate and comfortable. The location is great; near the orange line for the T. James was the consummate host. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay at The Gilded Lily. It was so comfortable, and homier than a traditional hotel. We spent three days and nights looking at colleges and it was great to come back to the bed and breakfast. It's close to everything. Parking isn't easy, but not impossible. It's amazingly quiet and peaceful for being in the city. James...

This charming and clean bed and breakfast was just perfect for our 4 night stay in Boston. The owner was very welcoming and helpful with suggestions on things to do and see. We were able to walk to restaurants, the theaters and The Boston Public Library, Commonwealth Avenue and more. The kitchen which connected our two rooms was stocked with...

My husband and I stayed at the Gilded Lily for three nights and our stay was so lovely. We had one of the Garden Rooms and the room was very spacious, nicely decorated and comfortable. We liked that unlike other Bed and Breakfasts, the Gilded Lily is quite private. Also, the owner is very helpful and such a nice person....

We were delighted to stay in this beautiful bed and breakfast, even though we only had one night, and had to leave to beat the snow storm coming in. This would be a delightful place to be stranded though, with it's charming architecture and being nicely decorated and very comfortable. The cute kitchen would allow you to stay for a...

I couldn't have enjoyed my visit to The Gilded Lily more. The whole bed and breakfast (including the Garden Room) was immaculate and elegant. The best part of the trip, however, was James- the innkeeper. He was so gracious and spent a ton of time explaining different things I might like to do in the South End. Be sure to...

I stayed in the Garden Room 2 over the weekend. The Gilded Lily is located in a very nice area of Boston close to many restaurants and is ideal for exploring Boston. The room was very clean and cute with a large variety of food in the kitchen. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and set up of the room and...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
