The hotel is perfectly located to many downtown attractions as well as great food and drinking establishments. The room and staff we're second to none and the $20 lobster special the restaurant was running was to good to pass up. Will stay again next time we're in Boston!

We stay at the Bostonian every year around Thanksgiving and love it. This year, not so much. On a cold/rainy/snowy night after dinner in Boston there is nothing more fun than using the in room tv to find a movie that is still in the theaters or just recently released. Don't expect it here. We were told they had updated their... More

Dear guest, Thank you for your return to The Bostonian for your Thanksgiving holiday. Certainly our upgrade was to add full HD and allow guests to utilize their Netflix or similar accounts to view on our new TV's. In-room movie companies are disappearing from our industry due to guest preference. I understand your surprise and if a return is planned... More

The rooms are only average re: size and comfort. The staff was subpar compared to other service at multiple hotels in both USA and in Europe. Location by the Quincy Market and the North End would be our only reason for returning.

Dear Bobbie, Thank you for your recent stay and as general manger I take responsibility for any guest whose experience falls below our mutual expectation. My apologies. While your service impression was not met, and you reference other US and Europe hotels, I might venture onto your postings and better understand your hotels of choice. Or, a follow-up email with... The hotel is beautiful. Serive is excellent. The restaurant was very good. The biggest problem with this property is that every door sticks. Instead of a click as the door latches, there is a bind which force is needed to overcome. Doors bang day and night. This location is simply too nice to have such a glaring issue. Our sleep... More

My wife and I chose this hotel for an anniversary weekend because of it's reviews and proximity to the Quincy market and the North End. We could hear and see the street performers in Quincy market from our Juliette balcony. We easily walked from the pier by the aquarium through Quincy market and China town to Boston common and back... More

This hotel though a bit dated is extra convenient to the downtown Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market area. Also near many historical walking areas and the Little Italian area. Also easy to hop the subway to Fenway park. So, though the hotel wasn't anything to brag about the location made it worth the stay. It also has a nice bar... More

We stayed at the Bostonian as it is walking distance to TD Boston Garden where we were attending a show. The hotel is also across from Faneuil Hall. Bathroom had large black curly hair in sink upon our arrival. Sliding door to bathroom was off the track. Door to balcony didn't close correctly so we heard the farmers market set up, yell & do everything starting at 6am. Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
