What a find! Great location within easy walking distance to so many wonderful neighborhoods and areas. We stayed for 3 nights in a junior deluxe room - no kitchen, but we had a refrigerator, which was great. Our view was fine as we faced away from the highway ( not that we were around much ). There was a fan in...

Stayed for 2 nights. Took the public transportation from airport per instructions on their site. It was free. Had to take luggage down some stairs but probably could have opted for an elevator if we wanted. When you come out of Charles station the hotel is located on the corner that is caddy corner from where you are. Probably visible...

Absolutely loved this place. Location was amazing. Staff and service were excellent. Price was unbelievable, but true. I would easily recommend and even stay again. That said, the location is great and right next to the train station and the hospital. You do hear the trains and ambulances regularly and randomly, but if you are a good sleeper, it's not...

The location is great (Beacon Hill, 2 min from Charles St. The staff Is extremely friendly, make you feel at home. BUT: - breakfast almost inexistent and very bad quality (except for the bananas) - the room was very small and the bed awful. The mattress being very old, your body falis into it. After two awful nights, I asked...

What a great find it was happening upon John Jeffries House. I stayed here for four nights last week and couldn't be happier with my experience. On searching for accomodation in Boston I was shocked at the cost of hotels, they were exorbitant prices for my budget. It was with huge relief then that I found this special place. The...

Had to go to MGH for early AM testing and stayed here. Perfect location and we decided to stay 2 more nights to do some Boston sightseeing. Right at the red line mgh stop, clean and had everything we needed. Quiet even though it is right at Storrow drive and the Longfellow bridge. The only thing that could be improved...

When we first drove up to the hotel, we were a bit aghast at the location: stuck between a major intersection, a freeway and a metro. But once you close the hotel door, everything is left behind and the hotel is actually very quiet. Feels like a small old fashion hotel, in a beautiful old building, with modern amenities. We...

We recently had to spend a couple of days in Boston for eye surgery. We had to be at the hospital early so we were advised from the hospital about this hotel, due to its close proximity to Mass General and relatively low price. I am so glad we took it. Its an older building but it has all the...

I was looking for a place to stay after a Red Sox game so I wouldn't have to drive home and then back into Boston for an early business meeting. Basic, suited my needs. I was in town for business, and for some reason there were no rooms available for less than $500. I found the John Jeffries House, and the price was right. I had a room in the basement, and it was fine. After a long day of meetings, I just wanted to relax in my room. But...

Neighbourhood Profile
Beacon Hill
Visit this historic and ritzy Boston neighborhood to soak up its classic New England charm as you stroll down cobblestoned, gas-lamp lined streets. Vernon street, Chestnut street and the extremely narrow and widely photographed Acorn street make a nice walking path. Make sure to meander down Charles street to poke into boutiques and antique shops, cafes, and restaurants on this quaint shopping street.
