My husband and I have stayed at many bed and breakfasts as well as hotels, and resorts. This property was a charming old home in Asheville, but the owners and staff absolutely "make it". Quaint relaxing grounds with beautiful garden. Close to downtown dining in Asheville. Options for in room spa treatments, wine and nibbles hour every evening. Excellent three...

So a few weeks ago I was interested in going on a small romantic getaway with my soon to be wife. The staff at 1889 Whitegate Inn went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great stay. The room was just beyond belief, absolutely amazing! I would recommend to anyone!

We stayed in the Elizabeth-Browning room, and we were more then pleased. We arived about 3:00 on March 5th and were greated at the door by name. We were amazed at beauty of the main house. We were made to feel welcome and asked if there was anything we needed. Check in was quick, followed by a short tour of...

After a visit to the properties website, I then turned to Tripadvisor.com and saw many, many positive reviews. I have been in the hotel business for 20+ years and after visiting the property, I can honestly say that it is all true. I would spend the extra money and stay in the Carriage House, the rooms are as modern as...

The 1889 Whitegate Inn is very centrally located for exploring downtown Asheville. When a snow storm hit during our stay, the staff was extremely helpful in determining what restaurants were open and what we could do around town. They even helped ensure that the massage therapist was able to make it in for my wife's pregnancy massage!

The 1889 Whitegate Inn is just beautiful. Our stay was so relaxing, breakfast was delicious, and the staff was so friendly and attentive. We had the Walt Whitman suite, which was luxurious and cozy, and the steam shower was divine. Book your room now!

We decided to go out of town for a long weekend rather last-minute. I shopped around online and was really reliant on the images, testimonies and reviews I found because it was so short notice. We found the Whitegate Inn to be just as pictured which is a real relief for online shopping like that. The staff was very friendly,...

We spent New Years Eve 2009 at this B&B. Because we booked late, we had to switch rooms mid-week, which normally wouldn't have been a big deal. Our first room was the Elizabeth Barrett Browning room and it was amazing! Absolutely beautiful, very quiet, rustic charm, extremely comfy bed. On New Years Day we had to move to the Waldo...

This B&B is wonderfully located, perfectly maintained and appointed with everything (and then some) that you would want for a weekend away. Frank and Ralph (and staff) leave no stone unturned, and offer an absolutely lovely experience. A perfect way to see Asheville, NC and to experience B&B living! Thank you! We WILL make this journey an annual event!
