We arrived later than expected and had a reservation elsewhere. This hotel was very helpful! The valet parked our car, unloaded and hung up our clothes, and put our champagne in the fridge for us! It was so nice to come back to our room after eating and not having to do anything! The location was exceptional! This hotel is...

If you love historic hotels with character, you must stay here. It has all of the amenities that you could ever desire, including a full size umbrella in the closet, Keurig coffee maker and a specialty chocolate in the evening. This hotel is steps away from Asheville’s finest restaurants and shopping. I do agree with other reviews that although this...

The staff at the Haywood were very nice and accommodating . Our room was spacious and clean. Thanks to the friendly bartenders (Amber and Ragan) made us feel at home. Atrium was cold nice to get free breakfast. Definitely would stay there again.

This is a fairly nice hotel, but I think they charge too much. The internet was terrible -- very slow and usually did not connect. The lobby is SUPER cold, but luckily our room did not have any temperature problems. Overall this was fine, but I can't say it is definitely worth $300/night.

So far the best hotel we have found in Asheville. We are a family of 5 and stayed in room 308. 1200 sq ft that can sleep 5 easily and features a separate master bedroom. Walk out the front door and music is playing and statue man is on the corner. Outstanding staff and service. When we visit Asheville again...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights during a long holiday weekend. The hotel itself is an old department store and a lot of the charm comes from that fact. However, the interior decor is 80s meets bed & breakfast. The rooms are huge, which was great. The bathroom was also massive, however was straight out of 1987....

We enjoyed our stay at the Haywood--front desk staff very helpful, 4th floor room extra large with view overlooking busy street below--but room was quiet, and parking and breakfast were included in price of room. You can cover all of the many downtown activities from the hotels great location. The room rates are pricey--

My husband and I got a chance to stay here for a quick stop off in Asheville. It was wonderful! Stan the valet/bellman was friendly and helpful. The valet parking is included in the rate and they are quick to get your car when you need it. The rooms are large and comfortable. We had our one year old with...

In the hands of a good manager this could be the charming, idiosyncratic, funky hotel it aspires to be. As it is, the building's history and the cute concept (quaint, old-fashioned department store) are not enough to make this hotel worth even 1/3 of its cost in high season. The rooms are indeed big, but they are too big for...
