What a refreshingly interesting hotel! Very close to Union Square, Monaco is very conveniently situated with pretty quirky décor. Staff very welcoming and efficient and always prepared to help. Bedrooms, whilst not large by US standards were well appointed, very clean and colourfully decorated. Breakfast was available in the 'Parisian' next door bar (never quite sure whether it was part...

Stayed here for one night last week (June 18th, 2014) for a work event I had to attend near Union Square. The Monaco was in a centralized location and easy to get around. The staff was great and the rooms were nicely decorated. Plus they have a free wine happy hour at 5pm just off the lobby which is always...

I was at this hotel from 6/15 - 6/18 and this was my first stay. It won't be my last. I LOVED it. The staff greeted me with a professional yet friendly greeting upon my arrival. The lobby is lovely and comfortable. I checked into my gorgeously decorated room. The bed was comfortable, the hotel was quiet, and the bathroom...

The attention to detail is fantastic in this beautiful hotel. Our room was lovely and had everything we could need for our 3 night stay. The staff are all friendly and extremely helpful. The wine o clock was a very nice touch - free wine between 5 and 6 o clock. The location is great for access to the theatres...

Dear Dawn634, Glad you were able to stay with us for 3 nights. I think people get a much better sense of our hotel and the staff on a little longer stay. We hope you were able to enjoy our complimentary coffee and tea service in the morning and our loaner bikes. If not, you will have to try those...

The Moncaco San Francisco is what I expected it to be, having stayed at other Monacos: fun decor, boutique vibe, good Kimpton service. It is close to Union Square--just a few blocks down--so the location is great! Check in was a bit frenetic, as we were told the hotel was oversold due to a Booking.com glitch. Our front desk staff...

I only had 1 night at Hotel Monaco but I wish it had been a longer stay. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was a decent size for San Fran and had fun and funky decor. Unfortunately I had an inner room so only had a view of the other rooms but there was still sunlight...

Dear citygirlnyc034, We wish you could have stayed longer, as well. We do have trade offs with our rooms. The interior rooms are definitely quieter, but they really don’t have much of a view. Our exterior rooms still do not have great views, but they get more natural light, but they experience more street noise. For some people, the street...

I stayed here for a week while on business in the area. Initially I thought the area was a bit run down, but I soon started to like the feel and decor of the hotel. It was very clean and spacious and only 3 blocks from Union Square. The room was very nice, I liked the modern French style furniture....

One of the favorite places of SFO. The hotel is comfortable, recently modernized and very well located. I had the pleasure of staying there several times. If the basic rooms are small, the suites are properly sized. They have been recently redecorated. This is not the design of a "W-like" hotel but it is nice .....without Plus. The bathroom of...

We spent two nights from May 17th to the 19. The location was very close to Union Square but also close to a rougher area. Not really the hotels fault. Rooms were smaller but typical for down town cities. They were clean with minor blemishes. The staff was very helpfull in typical kimpton fashion. Wine hour is always a plus....
