Not what I was expecting from a W Hotel however the staff made it enjoyable. Good reception and concierge staff. Funky foyer with dj music playing throughout the day and neon mood lighting. The rooms were comfortable but had a strong Asian decor which was a surprise. Extremely comfortable beds and pillows with 4 pillows to choose from. Electronic safe...

Very good & Efficient for the Convention center. NIce, clean rooms. Everything I expect from a W hotel though the area is a bit sketchy and is undergoing renovation. Close to business district, Uber ride to anywhere within $20 (though can walk to Piers but Fisherman's wharf is just too far)

I really loved my stay at this hotel. The room was large and the bed was so wonderful. The whole hotel is hip and modern without being alienating. I utilized the fabulous Sara Hamza and her staff to find last-minute tickets to the ballet. Room service for a late night meal was prompt and the sandwich delicious. I had a...

I've stayed at a ton of W hotels. This one delivers on the aesthetic - nice lobby bar, friendly staff in bar/restaurant/smiles at check in. But they fall short in a few KEY areas if you're a business traveler. 1. Phone in my room doesn't work. There is only one phone. So, in an emergency or just to order room...

This is in the middle of the Moscone mess and SOMA (south of Market) but it isn't quite as nice as the Intercontinental. Still acceptable. It appeals to a younger, hipster crowd, which is a shame because a lot of people are traveling with children (which included me). Even if not, I don't know if I'd feel entirely comfortable with...

This hotel was perfect for my first trip to San Francisco. Stayed here for a 5-day business trip and will definitely be coming back! Check in: I arrived about 3 hours before check-in. Our room wasn’t quite ready, but the staff took our luggage and email, then gave us suggestions for walking routes to pass the time. Within about an...

The location is within walking distance of many of the must see sites in San Francisco and the staff were very nice and accommodating. There was no concierge available while I was there which made it a little harder to find and book a restaurant but I was only there for one night so I assume there is usually someone...

One thing the W portion of the SPG chain always tries to maintain is its trendiness and this hotel was no exception. Stayed here for a quick weekend getaway. Check in: Arrived a tad before the usual check in time, so it was a nice surprise when the staff member checking us informed us that our room was ready. Check...

Good, central location for business travelers and tourists. Like most Ws, it is a bit pricey and has a faux-chic vibe and poor lighting. Some of the rooms have crappy views of another building but I think it varies a lot.

I stayed here for a conference which was located across the street made walking easy. Rooms are small but nice enough. No on site retail at all for incidentals. Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
